I think I’d rather make sure it was spot on for them, I dont want to risk putting them in any harm, so I guess that I will plan to go fish shopping on Saturday, what’s the next best step? Also my plants that are in the water in the bucket, will they be okay

I’m actually going out to the pub today and will be back at around 10pm, so I will test then. If I test tonight at 10pm and it’s zeros Does that mean water change? And NO MORE ammonia ?

So a recap on what I have done Tested the water last night after work at 6pm The nitrite was 1ppm Tested the pH and it was around 6.4 so added 2 flat table spoons of bicarbonate soda Left 30 mins and tested pH to find it had gone back up to 7.4-7.6 Added 1.25 ml of ammonia tested 30 minutes...

Tested for ammoni and it was 0.50 - 1 ppm @Essjay I have added another 0.75ml So a total of 2.25ml

@Essjay as I’m sure you can imagine I’m a little disappointed. We have a reading of 1ppm I’m wondering if the “2.5ml” we’re adding may be a little bit much, I mean we based that fact right at the start when I put double in and got it a bit wrong so we halved it

once removed from the pots and ready to plant.. can they go in either the sand or the gravel? Is one better that the other?

Okay so as follows… @Essjay - Test again in 24 hours (Thursday evening) - If Nitrite is 0.25 or less, add 2.5ml of ammonia - Test again 24 hours later (Friday evening) - If nitrite has disappeared it means the nitrate has consumed it. - I can now do my big water change & add plants Or -...

Okay, and if my reading after 24 hours is below this, what’s the next step ? Do I need to test for nitrate ? Ammonia ph ? Am I adding more ammonia or water change Haha it’s all go so confusing 😂

I think at this point / time of night il leave it for now. Is it worth testing in the morning? Or wait 24 hours?

So the test is still showing top end nitrite. It’s hard to tell but it looks slightly lighter than last time. What’s the best course of action going forward? @Essjay
