Finally got around to transferring my wife’s tank to the stand (20 gallon). I think they look awesome together.

electric yellow and an elongate Mbuna. The elongates kinda small so I’m a little worried. The lfs said if he’s getting to beat up bring him back to swap him out for a different one.

My wife also said while I was at work yesterday one of the zebras (I’m guessing the male) circling around the other one , I feel like they are too young for breeding correct? They’re maybe a little over 2”

From what I read ( not sure it’s 100% true) most rock dwellings mbuna can crossbreed

I’m not 100% but I think I have one male zebra and the other 3 are female. I’ve only been able to tell by all the dots on his anal fin , and the blue coloring on his top fin

Nope I’m actually very surprised the 4 of the cichlids (2 red zebra , 1 golden mbuna , 1 electric blue johanni) so far have just been hanging out together. Might be because they have my delhezi to bully at the moment.

My delhezi and chocolate pleco , sadly imma sell the delhezi , i thought id try cause ive had her the longest and grown her from a lil 2” baby and it’s not the aggression it’s the fact that they steal her food , so she hasn’t eaten since I’ve gotten the new tank.

Electric blue johanni I got gifted by my buddy , so far so good with the red zebras.

Everyone’s liking it so far stocking right now is my two red zebras , my delhezi that i can’t and won’t part with (sold my other 2 bichir to a dentist office ) , they’ve been fine together so far , and my chocolate pleco.

pH is usually 7.5-8.0 I haven’t tested my tank since I’ve moved into our new place and the water is a bit softer here (😂) Utah has awfully hard water. but looking on like it looks like around 300ppm

also , will the tannins harm my fish or anything? I waterlogged my first piece of wood but the 2 new ones I’m planning on holding down with rocks. Will the tannins and the water turning brown affect them?
