Dwarf gourami looks on way out

Well I checked My tanks this morning before I went on holiday. I was worried all my fish were on the bottom, even the harlequins who are never on the bottom, and all fish did not look happy I had only time, to do a quick water test I tested ammonia and nitrites and they were good, but I fear...

Thanks for that, but im going on holiday, this morning, so won't be able to carry this out, fingers crossed that the remaining fish will be okay. I did a 25% water change yesterday with a good gravel clean.

4 fl oz bottle of Ich-X marine free

It only says, contains a proprietary formula of water and formaldehyde, I have sent an email to the makers Hikari, asking if it can be used on a tropical fish tank, but I don't think it will. I am surprised no marine member on here wanted it, free, just postage to pay, as its never been used...

Well, as I expected was found dead this morning, I can't get over how quick it happened, the day before it was fine, no sign of disease, swimming and eating well, I really liked this Dwarf Gourami, but I doubt I would get another one, is their any other Gouramis of a similar size, that are...

Dwarf gourami looks on way out

I have had my dwarf gourami for a month, and he has been doing good, yesterday was eating okay, but noticed today he is hiding amongst the plants and not feeding, I read they don't live long so I'm hoping I'm wrong, but I think I might not have him tomorrow. Apart from this behaviour he...

    Buyer beware beware

I order a filter from Swell UK, it was being delivered by Yodel, I tracked the item, and it said would be delivered today Thursday which was okay, I made arrangements to be here Thursday, then a card through the door on Wednesday could not be delivered, they never said it would be delivered...

    Silencing air pumps

I have two pumps in my bedroom to work air stones in both tanks, I only use them to get rid of oil slicks and it works, I just switch them of at night.

    Changing internal filter for external

I've noticed on the Internet looking at aquarium sites, when changing your filter some say it's best to leave the two running side by side in the tank, I will be soon taking out the internal filter and replacing with a external, I don't wish to run them together, but by replacing the filter...

    Oil slick

Filtration shouldn't be a problem imnow running a fluval 207 external filter in a 125 litre tank, will try the kitchen towel and airstone method.

    Liquid Catappa

I know there's a lot of aquarium products out there that you do not need, one of these that I fell for is, liquid Catappa, it states it will help keep water clear, and creates the perfect environment for fish and shrimps, lowers ph, improves colour, and its effective against fungal...

    Oil slick

I have a light oil skim on top of my water, was looking at surface skimmers, but don't wish to add to my tank, I googled this problem and it came up to use an air stone, it said this works and will clear it, so I will give it it a go, anyone else tried this method, and does it work.

Best canister filter foa 70 litre tank

Fish crazy, thanks for your input, I watched a recent video on the 0ase filter smart 100, and I was not impressed, so I've decided when I decide to purchase I will go for the Fluval 107 filter.

Best canister filter foa 70 litre tank

About the same price as the aquarium and stand.

Best canister filter foa 70 litre tank

That was the one, but 200 pounds the fluvals are definitely cheaper, 200 pounds for a 70 litre tank, I don't know.

Best canister filter foa 70 litre tank

Have to have a good think, as what I liked in the biomaster was the pre filter, and the oase filto thermo 100 does not have this function

Best canister filter foa 70 litre tank

I thought of having the biomaster, which has the heater in the body, but it seems the smallest they do in the range is a 250, the tank I'm wanting one for is only a 70 litre so I think the 250 could be too big. They do one called the oase filto smart 100 for aquariums up to 100 litres, but I...

Best canister filter foa 70 litre tank

I've been looking at videos on the oase, you make your mind up what filter your going for, then you look at the comments you read couple of bad ones and you wonder should I go for one, have to stop reading them.

4 fl oz bottle of Ich-X marine free

Hi, I sent away for this treatment to an American firm, who sent me the wrong product, it should have been for freshwater. They reimbursed my money, and told me I did not need to return it to the USA, if anybody wants it , I will post it in a jiffy bag, I'm only asking for the postage.

Best canister filter foa 70 litre tank

I know it's a question where everyone has their favourites, I've been liking the Oase filto smart 100 for aquariums up to 100 litres, and the Fluval 107 external filter for aquariums 40 to 130 litres. Any other type you would you go for, feel free to recommend. I've just noticed the Oase one...

    Should i take a punt

Great advice as usual, will go with changing sponges over, filter has only been running for 3 weeks, I used goop, so I will leave it a couple of months before changing it

    Should i take a punt

I bought them for my 70 litre tank, I have 12 black neon tetras and now 6 celestial pearl danios, I would also wish to add some Ember tetras, how many embers, and how many more celestial pearl danios could I have in this tank. Another question, since buying the fluval canister with just the...

    Should i take a punt

I don't know, I only wanted 6, because they were really small, I said to her I wonder if I should buy eight. But she never answered.

    Should i take a punt

Well I got a surprise I was wanting to buy celestial pearl danios, my excellent local shop won't keep them, so I went today to my local pets at home store, I've never bought any fish from them, the assistant turned up with a mobile phone, and said she had as a first time buyer, she would have...

    Liquid co2

On another forum someone was saying what a difference liquid co2 has in keeping his algae down, I've read its a complete waste of money, but he goes on to say, when he stopped using it, he noticed a difference in his algae situation, what do you think good product, or snake oil.

    Removing juwel filter

A couple of last questions I may have to pack the sponges tightly, as I also have a bag of ceramics that's been in the aquarium for a couple of months, probably a silly question but packing the sponges tightly does this effect the bacteria, and because the Fluval has two large sponges inside...

    Removing juwel filter

I have now purchased a fluval 205 canister, have it set up in the aquarium, just the filter material from the interior filter to add, have managed to cut out the interior filter, but have left it running, as planning to take it out Sunday. Then I will do a small water change, filling a plastic...

    Help with Seachem Prime,

Can anyone who uses prime, work out the tank dosing, I'm finding the instructions complicated, I want to dose a 70 litre Aquarium, sometimes a 50% and usually a 25% water changes, if anyone can give me roughly the doses, in mls or drops, it would really be appreciated.
