How long do these changes take you normally? I just spent the best part of an hour doing my 6 gallon and 30 gallon, although I don't have a hose so it's a case of having to empty with a gravel vac/siphon into buckets.

Sorry you lost your fish, were you able to check water parameters either before or after you did the water change? Unfortunately it seems like once fish lose their ability to self-right and swim properly there isn't much that can be done, but I've no idea what could've caused it.

You should be able to find out online, or if you have a water hardness test kit. The only thing about your fish choices is that cories and gourami need soft water and guppies hard. Not sure if this might be why you're losing your guppies as per your other thread but something to bear in mind.

I don't know about the gourami etc but you ideally want bigger groups of cories, about 10 of each, for them to thrive. I know in other threads you've mentioned them being expensive where you are but ideally that's what I would do first, massively increas those numbers and maybe forget the tetras...

I have a 29g with 12 pygmy cories, 4 pandas, 4 juliis and 4 ADF's and am pretty much at full capacity (recently asked on here if i could add more and it was a pretty resounding no). I would say probably half of what you've listed would be full.

I think if doing a fish in cycle "best practice" is to test water parameters every day and then do a big water change as soon as any parameters rise, repeating this as long as it takes for the cycle to be completed.

Could you transfer some of your filter media over from the current tank to the new? Not sure what filter you have but if its a sponge, for example, you could cut in half and put one half in the new filter just to help the cycle along. Other than that adding Dr Tim's or similar, as AJ356 said...

I know what you mean about fish getting excited after a water change, mine always come out to have a good look around after a water change even though I put everything back where it was! My frogs all come to the top when I change water too but I think that's because they think it's dinner time.

Usually if the fish is swimming upside down and/or not eating its not a good sign. Are there any other symptoms? How are your other fish?

Are you able to describe the symptoms that the fish show before dying? It might help others offer advice. From what I can find online Kanaplex is not compatible with snails, not sure if you can move them elsewhere? However if you're still losing fish after dosing the Kanaplex may not be the...

It may be worth treating for worms to see if this helps the remaining fish, if they're not eating much there could be a wider issue.

If you move over the filter, substrate and decor from the 10g then the need for cycling is reduced. If not it sounds like you are planning to do a fish in cycle which can be quite stressful on the fish. Not that it's not doable but if you've been too busy to do water changes on your 10g you may...
