Also what size is the tank? Goldfish are messy so if they're in a small tank you'll have to do very regular water changes while you can get a bigger tank.

Sorry your betta seems to be deteriorating. The kindest thing would be to euthanise him if he is showing symptoms of pine coning. I've just been through similar with my betta, so I know how rubbish it it when you're just trying to give them a good life.
