Entry #13 Ammonia and nitrite levels are 0 ppm this morning. I added more ammonia to the tank to repeat the test. But it appears like Tetra Safe Start and an old filter are doing the trick.

I have a 20 gallon long stocked with 5 red coral dwarf platys, 6 yellow Tiger endlers and a pair of gold sailfin Mollys. There are always fry in the tank which when young juveniles go to my lfs.

As a sinophile, I will say the Japanese create a restrained beauty in their art. I do not know if they partake in the tropical fish hobby.

Yes. My KH has dropped from around 160 ppm to 100 ppm. No change in GH. I guess the filter is binding carbonates.
