So the culture just went mouldy and smelly so I threw it in the bin. I think I'm going to give up on these now, but at least I can say that I had a go. Also I would like to share a pic of one if my guppies that I bred, he is such a lovely colour...

I can't see any canister type things. There is a bit where the wire goes in, then in the lid there is just the connection for the bulb.....

I came home from work to find that my Fluorescent blue light is flickering on and off. It's like it's trying to come on but not quite making it. Any suggestions of what might be wrong with it? Will it need a new bulb?

My fry were between 5 and 6 weeks when they started to show some colours, and even now they are 3 months old and there colours are still changing

congratulaions :) ive just filled up my 50l fry tank with 50+ fry that were born last week. its quite cool if you manage to catch the female giving birth, very interesting to watch. one thing just to mention is to keep the water clean, the cleaner the water the quicker they grow :). i feed mine...

my cullture is all set up, now i just have to wait for them to multiply. i also recieved my baby brine shrimp but they are in salt water. how can i get them out of the water as they are so small?

I just done a massive water change ( probably at least 75%) on Thursday as the water was really cloudy. The new fish have been in there about a week. Would it be wise to do another huge water change?

i tried to culture microworms but didnt have much luck, i think i done it wrong. they were very smelly as well

All of the above guppies have gone now, but just tonight I've got 30 more newborn fry and it looks like a few other females are gonna pop soon, so these new 30 little critters are for sale, but at 50p each :)

The adult tank is fine now, I took the Molly back to the shop I got it from and the gourami that it was bullying died. I think the Molly had completely ruined him by the time I took the Molly out. I kept testing the water as I was worried about something being wrong but everything seemed fine...

I don't know much about these fish but this story is terrible I'm glad you rescued them and I hope they make a full recovery, good luck and keep us updated :)

I can't wait to see them with all their colours. Some have blue tails that are now changing to orange. I want to keep them all but I know it's not possible as I think the tank will be over stocked.

i understand. i keep getting a lot of mess at the bottom of the tank so i dont think the filter is that good, but i keep removing the mess and doing water changes every week. yes i think it was a birth defect, it is the first one ive lost and ive still got 77 left! so thats not to bad i suppose
