Hiya! I currently have 2 Platy's and 4 Ghost shrimp! I did want to get some Neon Tetra's to go with them but my tank is too small (5G) and I don't want to be cruel... :unsure: So I'm thinking of investing in either a Betta or maybe 1 or 2 Guppies... Will they mix with my existing fish...

I have a 17 litre tank with 2 Platy's and 4 Ghost Shrimp at the mo! Looking to add 4 or 5 Neon Tetra's at some point to complete the family!! :D

Hi! :D When do I stop cycling my tank?? :unsure: Do I need to cycle for a certain amount of time or stop when I have no ammonia?? Just did a fresh batch of water tests - Nitrate - 10 Ammonia - 0 Nitrite - 0 Any advice would be great!! :good:

No I haven't cleaned it - I told my fiance that I was pretty sure it looked normal at that I shouldn't really need to clean it this soon! :rolleyes: He was kinda worried cus it looks grimey - but it just looks like food flakes, which seems fine to me, makes me think the filter's doing it's...

The fish are in a new tank now - they all seem happy at the mo! :good: The filter seems to be acting "normal" again now - the pauses were only for split seconds so I'm thinking that maybe it was a one off!! When I moved the gravel over today though there was tonnes of dirt and left over food...

Nope - not a splash... :sad: Checked again this morning and there's more water so it looks like we're relocating tanks! -_- Just one more question.... My filter seems to be taking tiny pauses every so often as opposed to having a fluent stream of water being pumped out - is this ok?? :unsure:

Yeah that's what I've just done - I could just have splashed a lot whilst doing my cycles, I'm hoping that's what it is anyway! :blush:

No Nitrite and then ammonia level was 0.25

I'm currently doing a 30% water change every evening at the mo - they do always seem more lively after I do that... I'm not sure about the Nitrite yet - we tested the water last night - the ammonia level was up a bit and the pH level was 8. We did test Nitrite but I can't remeber what it said -...
