    Stocking Ideas

Thanks for the advice. Re the albino Cory's. Would adding them in addition overstock the tank? I'd presume so?

    Stocking Ideas

Dimensions are 14 inches deep, 14 inches high (water, I measured to the height of the sand) and just over 29 inches long The pH is 6, well possibly less as this is the reading on the test kit. Hardness I'd need to check later as I can't recall but my water is pretty soft. The Gourami has...

    Stocking Ideas

I've changed my post as some of the info was wrong. No longer plan on putting in any ember tetras and there are in fact only 4 cherry barbs. Still reckon increasing schooling fish numbers is best?

    Stocking Ideas

Hi, I'm looking for advice/opinions on stocking. I've posted before about having issues with live bearers due to soft and acidic waters. Instead I'm going for different fish and so far have had a lot more success. Below I have included my stocking, and was thinking of adding albino Cory's to...

    Raising PH

Kind of matches the fish that have survived in my tank and the ones that have died... mollies, guppies never last which after testing I can see why. Although one singular guppy remains a year on. Will have a look now at other stocking and get that going over the next few weeks. Thanks all...

    Raising PH

Hello I have done further tests and replied with them dKH - didn't even go blue, was faintly yellow (practically clear) from the first drop dGH - 6

    Raising PH

So after further testing of hardness using API liquid test kit the gH test changed colour in 6 drops, and the kH didn't even go blue at all.

    Raising PH

Thanks, will do a bit more testing and read the suggested links and perhaps rethink some stocking to better suit as opposed to changing ph and water parameters

    Raising PH

This was also my thoughts. At the moment there's some neons, dwarf gourami and a singular guppy. Reason for the singular guppy is the rest of the group died, rapidly, which made me retest water I'm aware ph could be lower than 6 as this is the lowest reading the test can do, however at the...

    Raising PH

Yeah this is what I have read so have been looking into it. My only concern would be, during water changes I would be adding water that was of a lower PH again into it, this would cause fluctuations surely?

    Raising PH

My 100L Tank has a PH of 6, at least this is what it reads when testing (using API Master Test Kit). I was wondering if I should go about trying to raise the PH and if so, what the best way to go about doing this is?

    Tank Humidity

A dehumidifier runs all day in the room where the 6g is, the 30g is in the front room so it doesn't go in there due to noise

    Tank Humidity

Hi, I have around 36g worth of aquariums. One 30g and one 6g I was wondering whether this amount would produce a lot of humidity for it to be problematic? The 6g is a fluval edge so has a complete glass top and the gap is also covered by a plastic grated top The 30g also has a hood, granted...

    Stocking Ideas

Strange "hardness as mg/l CaCO3" is 33.42, which is stated as soft.. No idea what the CaCO3 means

    Stocking Ideas

I done a test (granted, with a strip) which showed 0-30 general hardness. Probably closer to 30 Probably looking for more of a centre piece, but also any other ideas really

    Guppy Dieing

Ok, will do. I have uploaded two videos, one is vertical but is still easy to see

    Guppy Dieing

Would so many water changes at that volume not have a negative effect?

    Guppy Dieing

Just to note if I move my filter intake it does manage to swim off it so it's not necessarily pinned to it
  28. C

    Guppy Dieing

Ok, I would say it is breathing heavier than it should in that case although not at the extent its whole body moves. It seems to be deliberately swimming up to the intake at this point

    Guppy Dieing

I feed blood worms occasionally and tetramin flakes

    Guppy Dieing

Stupid question coming up but how would I know if its breathing hard? I mean i see its gills moving and they appear to be going pretty fast so i guess

    Guppy Dieing

Ok, I'll try get that done tonight. In the mean time my best description of it would be it looks aesthetically fine theres no ich spots ornrotting fins. It's just laying about weak. But I'll get a video or maybe even pictures as a video may not have much use given it's not doing a lot of moving

    Guppy Dieing

So the hardness according to the supplier website is 33.42 as mg/l. I have no hardness test kit. I will try to upload a video as soon as I can No it's not eating, as I said it hasn't done for 3 days so I haven't seen it poop The water is changed at least every week, and I have not long...

    Guppy Dieing

Hi So I have a 105 litre tank, in it is the following 3 neons (less than there should be but I currently can't change that given lockdown) 1 adult female molly 6 molly fry (around 3 months old) 1 guppy My issue is the guppy has come oddly docile, barely moving and barely swimming. I found...

    Filter Question

Hi, I have pointed it towards glass so that has reduced the flow. I never did it before because I thought it would be too strong Thanks for your help
  36. C

    Filter Question

Hes not actually in front of it, just off to the side of it. They dont struggle unless they go directly into the stream of it but some do that intentionally and swim against it. It may well be fine, just wanted to be sure. It's been running for more than a couple months now
  37. C

    Filter Question

The first is of the output, the second is an air stone, the bubbles are being pushed by the flow. This sits at the half way point of the tank

    Filter Question

No the intake is fine and the fish swim near it with no struggle at all. The outtake though is strong but this blows just under the surface of the water from right to left.
