Thats my problem i dont do small, the choice is 60gal or 100gal both fairly large tanks! The CO2 is something i will be adding later on i just want to researh it now, after all, when i all the plants are dying cos there aint enough CO2 isnt the time to start reading about it.

Thanks for that Rose, one thing does confuse me now though, nearlly everyone i have asked says to use sand as the substrate, but they also say to use plenty of plants from what you sya Rose the two dont mix. What if i mix in a few bags of gravel will that work???

As you may have gathered from posts elsewhere im setting up a discus tank. I know that discus like a nice planted tank but what do the plants like. Im going to use sand as my substrate, my question is is what do i need to see the plants ok. How much lighting do i need co2 now or in the future...

As i said in my hello post i have an empty 4ft tank i think im gonna go for discus. Anyone have any tips for the setting up and running of a discus tank?? Im thinking sand for substrate, some bog wood, and some plants (not sure what type yet any suggestions) using ro water.

Confession time. I have had the wood sat there for about two weeks now to rebuild the hood for my tank. Hood mark one fell apart when i moved the tank. To that end dont build it out of mdf cos the screws pull out.
