So I started cycling my tank 3 days ago. I followed the guide here and used the calculator to woek out ammonia. When I did my first test I had a ready of 4ppm Yesterday ammonia was at 2ppm And today it had dropped to 0.5 But my nitrate and nitrite tests have been 0 all 3 days is something wrong.

I need some big lights for my big tank. so I went to the hydroponics shop it's much cheaper there than at the aquarium shop.

Where can I find resources about fish and what substrates are fine for them. As my 60l has a gravel bottom.

@AilyNC its a 260L with divided substrates I made a thread about the tank tank setup im thinking 2 or 3 different cover plants. I keep getting the size mixed up. its 122cm by 46cm by 47cm

I filled the tank and everything is looking amazing So time for some plants im thinking 2 different cover plants, then anubius+moss on the drift wood. And on the dragon stones

All the substrate is down, so its time to prepare the rest of the decorations and plan out what plants to include in my tank.

Apparently it has to do with frequency for the colours

I cut up some perspex sheets which I then sanded down and attached to the bottom of the tank with marine silicon. I would recommend 20mm width on your cut as I ran out of substrates and had to go buy more.

Started adding the substrates today and found out I didn't have enough. So I'm off to the hardware store. Dont know where im going to put the rocks yet, or the driftwood.

Does anyone know if I can use filter sand
