The cartridges get really dirty though, i never change them all in one go. So will my current filter system be ok if i purchased some pond sponges?

Ok mines a 60 litre, it came with the tank Are the sponges quite strong? I would be submerging it into water. How often would they need replacing? Also, i find that not all the water gets filtered. I. E there is space around the sides of thr cartridges where water can pass through.

Do you think i should buy a new filter/pump? I have the Marine Slim Filter s15. Would these sponges fit nicely in the unit?

Oh as simple as that? How often should it be replaced? I find my current system sometimes vibrates and makes a noise, any recommendations of a filter/pump that is better?

Where can i buy them from? And will it ft my current system? Or should i buy a new kit? Thanks

Hello I use "HAGEN MARINA BIO CARB SLIM FILTER" cartridges. This is what came with my tank. However i notice there are spaces to fit 3 cartridges, but the instructions say to only use two, see my attached pic. Should i be using 3 filter cartridges? Thanks

One of mine had this, he lasted a fair few weeks, however he hasnt been seen for well over a week. I have checked in the plants and under the ornaments and cannot be seen. I think he was eaten... Out of the 6 he was VERY small.

Hey For the past week i had noticed that i had only seen 5/6 Neon Tetras and 2/3 Clown Loach.... So yesterday afternoon while doing a gravel vacuum i checked under all of the ornaments. My gf saw a yellow tail in one of the tiny holes inside the top of the ornament. I had assumed it was dead...

Just an update, i went to the Goldfish Bowl and they recommended half doses of white spot treatment and melafix. Literally after one treatment almost all spots have gone. One Neon Tetra has one or teo left.

When i added the loach, it had been going for 5 weeks... I have upped the temperature, will see what happens.

I took a water sample to my fish store, asked how long id had the tank for and they said the readings were fine for more

Hello I have a layer of fertilizer under our gravel. My question is if i use a gravel cleaner, wont the special fertilizer get sucked out of the tank?

ok I think is something that just takes a while to eat, after 10 of the Loach's going crazy at the bottom of the tank, it's a calmed down. So I assume it's all gone.

are they able to nibble at it and actually eat anything? is it just a slow thing to eat?

Are the wafer pellets ok to sit about at the bottom for a few hours?

They sank, but they were nibbling at them and it didnt look like anything was being eaten.

Hello The person at the fish shop did explain that they grow this length, but they are slow growers. He did say that when they get too big they would be able to possibly buy them off of us. What do you mean by this?

Hello I got some clown loach in our tank last weekend. When feeding flakes the Tetras would get 95% of the food. Someone at my pet store recommended Algae Wafer food as it will sink. Is this ok for them?

Hey I have been doing water changes daily for the last 4 days, when i feed the fish (a verrry tiny amount once every other day) they both float to the top. Do you know why this is happening?

Hello I think its the pump that is taking the water up through the filter. Turning that off will stop the filter.

Hello We installed some plants into our tank and put a layer of aquarium fertiliser at the bottom of the tank. We was told that this lasts for 2-3 years. My question is what do you do after this time to feed the plants?

Hello What do you mean by this? If you mean allowing the water to go through the filter then yes.
