Sparkling Gourami on tank bottom, dead next day

Did that work? I'm concerned about the tap water now. On rainy days we have some rust in the tap water, it's actually yellow. In that case I let it run until clear and then do the water change. But could there still be something in it? Also weird that it didn't affect anything for 4 months. I...

Sparkling Gourami on tank bottom, dead next day

Here is a video of the guy. You can see the pseudomugils in the video too which escaped my pictures... https://files.fm/f/fmjrq7auc Am I just getting paranoid or am I seeing red gills and big eyes?

Sparkling Gourami on tank bottom, dead next day

Hi guys, thanks so much for the reply. I will definitely stop the fertilizer (FYI it's the kind with no nitrogen, so it only has potassium, magnesium and iron. I'll still stop the treatment!). Here are some pictures of all the remaining fish. The fins of the Danios were nipped but the culprit...

Sparkling Gourami on tank bottom, dead next day

Hi everyone, Long time no see! If anyone is around to help me with issues in my 20g long, I would greatly appreciate it. Problem in short: since 2 days ago, fish (Sparkling Gourami and maybe others) hover over gravel and then die the next day, no other symptoms. Tank size: 20g long tank age: 4...

Molly has grey patches (and snail infestation)

The loach has been there about one day before the symptoms occurred. Super bad timing!!! It is a red tail zebra loach, max size around 2.5-3 inch. It is a bit too big to stay in a 20g also suppoased to live in groups, so it's only there temporary for the snail problem. For the molly with grey...

Molly has grey patches (and snail infestation)

Thank you so much for your fast reply. I appreciate it so much that you're here to help me out! I'm aware that my tap water might not be suitable for Mollies anymore, and I will look into relocating the fish later, but right now I really just want them to survive :((( Answering your questions...

Molly has grey patches (and snail infestation)

Sorry to bother, it's me again. The medication is not doing anything after the full cycle of treatment, instead it has spread to every inhabitant of the fish tank and also the fins of the white clouds have started to rot. Could it be something else? What should I do, please?

Molly has grey patches (and snail infestation)

Thanks so much for the advice. I wasn't able to find any copper sulfate containing medication today, but I got my hands on API Ick cure with malachite green. I guess that's the right thing to use? Would Melafix also be an option, or is everything too advanced for that by now? Alternatively, I...

Molly has grey patches (and snail infestation)

I have added salt at the lower dosis you described. I'm not sure I can raise the temp that much with white clouds in there. Just in case, what would a the medication of choice? Thanks so much!

Molly has grey patches (and snail infestation)

Hey, thanks for your reply. The first couple months that the tank was running, it was stable at pH 8-8.5. Honestly the pH change totally escaped me. Now that Colin suggested that I measure the tap water, I realized that the pH of that dropped significantly to about 6.5 and I wasn't aware of that...

Molly has grey patches (and snail infestation)

I'm back, followed all your tips and continued water changes. However, it's getting worse. She is still grey and now I saw that her tail fin is torn. What is that? Is it now time to medicate with something? Here again I have the problem that I don't know what to use... API fungus cure claims...

Molly has grey patches (and snail infestation)

Hi, thank you for your detailed reply! I read that fungus could also be greyish in color... There is a lot of confusing information out there. Because my fish were fine for one year, I thought the monthly water changes were OK. But I'll be doing more then from now on. Since I did 50% yesterday...
