How big is your tank?

What are the dimensions of the 5 gallon you're planning on getting? Also, is there a reason why you want dual bulbs instead of a single bulb fixture?

That last one looks like a Peacock. I would've paid up to $40 for it but I didn't have any other bids going so I would've had to pay around $30 to ship a single fish. That one sold for $20 which is a bargin IMO.

Presoaking doesn't remove most of the tannins. Some types of wood will continue to leach fairly large amounts of tannins for many many months. I've boiled wood in a big pot about 10 times and the water still ends up being very dark even on the 10th time.

Yeah the acrylic tank's bottom will flex slighty without any problems. :) Thanks for the comments everyone. :D

In their natural habitat, the water temps for bettas rarely ever goes below 70 let a lone 60 or 50. Bettas don't have access to fur coats. :lol:

Get the Emperor 400 HOB. It has two BioWheels, adjustible flow control and adjustible spray bars, removable media baskets and is good for up to 80 gallon tanks. It's cheap too about $40 at some places. Try to find the new revision with the window indicaters and single button flow suppressor.

That's a glass 2.5 gallon tank with glass lid that you can get from Petsmart for $10. It doesn't come with a light, though you could get a light for it for another $10-$15. If you want to go that route you can get a tiny $7 AZOO HOB filter to go with it. In the end you'll end up paying the same...

A 50W heater is fine for a 3 gallon tank. This is not a 100W heater so you shouldn't worry. The only difference is the 50W heater will be able to heat the tank up to the set temp faster than the 25W. Once it reaches the set temp it will stay there so there's no temp fluctuations. Make sure you...

Like I said it depends on the Betta.

Just get the 50W Stealth, it's only a couple dollars more and you can use it for an even bigger tank if you upgrade in the future.
