yes, a pond is the best idea. thinkin about gettin a huge tank in the basement, 12x6x4, but wont need that for a while yet tho.

giraffe catfish will look good, i have one, lol. not to sure about the shovelnose tho, may get a bit big.

sounds like a good set up. Angel fish = should be ok if kept in pairs, providing the tank is tall enough. Clown Loach = should be ok, they do hav a tendency to play dead, ???? Red tailed Black shark = yes, they can get big. been said to get to about 2 foot, ive never seen one that big myself...

my gator gar took 2 3-4 inch iridescent sharks in the space of about 4 days :(

i had a couple of ghost shrimp before i started keeping big big fish. but once my gar saw them, they started going "missing". mine use to feed on blood worm & flake. hmmmm, i think i might re-setup my small tank this weekend, and get some ghosties in a couple of weeks, with some nice small fish. :)

what about one of the smaller gars? i handfeed my gator gar (when shes not in a mood) and are great to watch. not sure if your tank is big enough tho, but have a look. as for the knifefish, i think ive only seen mine 2 times since i got it. with it bein nocturnal it spends all day hidding, but...
