I have a sponge filter in my 29 gallon community tank and it is not working well enough. I have had it in for a little over 2 months. I used to use a hob filter, and when I switched over to the sponge filter I hid my hob filter media in a decoration. How should I change filters? I have too many...

Well, a fat oto is a happy oto. Idk about this one though, it looks too fat. I have never had a problem like this with my otos before.

When I first had algae I cleaned the tank and got a few otos. That seemed to do the trick. You can get some algae fix or do some research to see what algae removers are safe.

If it is shedding that is good. It means it is nice and healthy.
