Well, I added aquari sol to see if it helps. I do not see any of the fish rubbing on any objects. Is it possible to save this fish?

Yeah I tested the water myself. I do not see and problems with his gills or anything on the body. Just breathing really heavy. I just dont know what to do.

I bought a pair of young blue rams yesterday. The female is doing good, but the male is breathing heavy and either hiding or hanging out at the surface or just below really. PH is 7.6- 7.8. Ammonia is 0, Nitrie is 0. Tank is 20 gallon and is two months old.

Has anyone kept a pair of each together sucessfully? If so what size was the tank?

Would a 10 gallon tank with just a few ghost shrimp and a cory or two be ok to keep a pair of Kribs in? Or is it just too small and I would be better off putt ing my pair of Bolivian Rams in there? I havent set it up yet and was wondering which direction I should go?

6 weeks. I t seemed to just finish cycling over the weekend. The only fish I see the Kribs chasing are the Rams and thats to be expected.

I just check the Notrites and Ammonia and both are zero. I did a 50% water change two days ago, should I do another?

Not as severe, but sort of. They look frayed..but its all of them now.

Theres a pair of Bolivian Rams, pair of Kribs, 6 Black Neons and 2 Neons..plus the two Albino Corys. In a 20 gal. Now, I know I have to rehome the Kribs or Rams, and Im in the process of doing that, but they seem to be OK for now. I was thinking it was fin rot, but now the bigegr cory, floats...

I don't know hwo is doing it but I think it's the Kribs. All there fins are taking a beating, but I haven't actually seen anyone doing it. The Bolivian Rams i dont think would do it. If they don't make it, anyone have any other suggestions for a catfish with these fish besides plecs?

Sound like Blue Rams.."C" could stand for Cichlids.

I think the Nitrites finally going down to 0 (as of yesterday) has something to do with it. I really would like them to breed because I've never bred and egg laying species before, plus I have a store that will buy the fry from me.

Well I removed the more aggressive female a few days ago and now, the other one is chasing him around and he just hides in the plants and behind the lip of the filter. id really like for them to breed, even if the fry dont make it. Any suggestions as to this latest activity?

Well, It's been a week with my new filter and my ammonia hasnt gone back up yet and my nitrites are finally at zero. I think my tank has finally cycled and getting a new filter hasnt effected that, yet anyway.

I just dont get what is going on..both females are chasing the male and terrorizing him. I mean, unless the one isnt a female and its a male but I just don't see it. They dont resemble each other and theres no arrow shaped tail and dot on it. Why are they doing this?

Well thats the thing, Im not really sure what there doing. I probably will take one of the females back. As far as the rams go, they appear to be fine. No one bothers the other, with the exception being the female ram chases the smaller male around and thats really it.

Any tips? i dont need a crazy setup or anything.

Well, thank you for the reply. It's definatly a little stronger then the old one and the water is still a bit "cloudy" looking, but Im hoping its the end of the cycle. I did do a cycle with fish and of course when I first set everything up, no one at the store bothered to tell me not to stock it...

I have two plecos (common, I think) that I did not realize would get so big. I need two or three catfish for a 20 gallon tank. The only thing is, I have 3 Kribs and tetras in there, so I would need something compatable.

it says it goes up to 20. so what filter do you recommend? a whisper? penguin? aqua clear?

This one just doesnt seem to be keeping the water clear. I mean its basically clear, but just not cyrstal clear and I dont overfeed or anything. It's an "aqua-tech" that came with a kit I bought at Wal-Mart.
