Is this silicone safe? Quick help is appreciated :)

Yes I read it all, I just got confused. I'm not particularly concerned about cycling the tank, just my plants, which are currently floating in a five gallon. I dont have anywhere to plant them or any extra substrate, and I'll be gone till Tuesday. That's the only reason I asked, I get confused...

Is this silicone safe? Quick help is appreciated :)

So then it should be fine by tomorrow morning or this evening? Or should I wait the full seven days? I finished the tank yesterday at 12 in the afternoon. And everything is fixed to the tank, I found the idea on YouTube and went for it. I'm not sealing a tank, just decorating, I'll post a...

Is this silicone safe? Quick help is appreciated :)

Also, I was wondering if it would be safe to fill the tank tomorrow night and get it completely set up to start cycling? I've read that silicone is fully cured after 24 hours depending on the thickness, but I've also read it's not safe to add fish for 7 days? Could someone clarify? I'd like to...

Is this silicone safe? Quick help is appreciated :)

Thank you! The article was helpful. I'd been trying to Google it but wasn't getting anything clear. And I've never thought about that, that black silicone can't be 100% pure because of the color. Good point, I'm new to working with silicone but this'll be the first aquarium I use it on. I'm...

Is this silicone safe? Quick help is appreciated :)

I ran out of my usual aquarium silicone and am wondering if this leftover tube will work? I know 100% silicone is safe, but this says 100% silicone rubber, and there are ingredients listed on the back. I'm trying to get this project done by tomorrow so the silicone can cure while I'm on...

Betta with stringy things hanging off of it after tank remodel and damaged fin

Thank you for your help but Ghost passed away sometime this morning. I still don't know why. Now I don't know what to do with the tank. I don't trust it because he developed his symptoms so quick after I added all of the plants and media, so part of me wants to trash it all and thoroughly clean...

Betta with stringy things hanging off of it after tank remodel and damaged fin

The poor thing- I wish I knew what I did! Of course he was in bad shape when I got him but he seemed strong enough for a new tank. I'm going to try a round of antibiotics tomorrow if he doesn't improve with a water change or two, I'm also going to fast him for a day or two.

Betta with stringy things hanging off of it after tank remodel and damaged fin

So I'm not sure what is happening anymore. He improved drastically yesterday, almost no overproduced slime coat, just a tiny spot on the top of his head and he seemed fine. This morning, around 6 am was the same. And tonight I got home from work and he is worse again, but this time his belly...

Betta with stringy things hanging off of it after tank remodel and damaged fin

Honestly, now that I'm thinking about it I think that's what happened. I put his java fern in the container with him while I was working on the tank. He's a very skiddish fish, I thought it might help him be more comfortable, but now that I'm thinking the rhizomes can be pretty scratchy. Okay...

Betta with stringy things hanging off of it after tank remodel and damaged fin

Also, most of the fin damage was there before, I got him that way. One new thing is the back of his tail, which seems to have some new damage on the top.

Betta with stringy things hanging off of it after tank remodel and damaged fin

Gravel is fluorite dark clay substrate, I use it in my other betta tank, never had problem, washed it in declorinated water before adding. Same goes for the white sand, it's actual aquarium sand, not playsand or something diy, which I usually use, but wanted specific look for this guy. Lava rock...

Betta with stringy things hanging off of it after tank remodel and damaged fin

Ok, guess he's going back to living in his empty tank. No clue what could poison him? All of the plants are live from my other aquariums.

Betta with stringy things hanging off of it after tank remodel and damaged fin

So Ghost was fine earlier. He is Mt newest betta, I bought him from my LFS after seeing how horrible a condition he was in. I couldn't leave him for some reason, I was just drawn to him. His fins were shredded and he wasn't doing too well, but after a couple months with me he's been looking...

First Paludarium- Land Hermit Crabs and Fish?

Well in the first he builds a cage going up the back of the paladarium using egg crate light diffuser and a removable overflow box for easy maintenance. The second is just a really cool brackish water paladarium with a tide feature where every hour the water gets sucked in and out of a sump...

First Paludarium- Land Hermit Crabs and Fish?

Definitely looking to build a space below the burrowing area where I can house the spounge and filter, as well as build a column behind the background/waterfall for easy removal of the pump. I've seen so many paladarium builds where they permanently foam or silicone the pump in place and that...

First Paludarium- Land Hermit Crabs and Fish?

Thank you, that definitely helps me to see the process. Most paladarium builds I've seen only have an intricate background for the land animals to climb, but crabs need space to dig, and a separate salt water pool. It's difficult because I'm also trying to match the needs of the future gecko...

First Paludarium- Land Hermit Crabs and Fish?

Hello again, I was wondering if anyone could take a look at this vivarium and have any insight on its quality? I honestly don't know what to look for in a set up like this. This one is huge obviously, and if my math is correct would give me somewhere between a 10-15 gallon space to work with...

First Paludarium- Land Hermit Crabs and Fish?

So this might be a bit ambitious but I've recently become fascinated with the idea of building a paladarium for my hermit crabs to combine my fish keeping hobby with my other animals... I don't really know where to start, it feels like a huge project to me, even though I'm really only aiming to...

    Kissing gourami and pleco growth?

Great, I've always wanted one but held off because of my tanks size and how widely neglected these poor guys are, but when I decided to move I knew I was going to get a much larger tank and snatched up a medium size one with the plan of expanding. Thinking about it now I guess he has grown...

    Kissing gourami and pleco growth?

I thought he was a common pleco when I got him, like I said it's my first time with this fish. I've had Bristlenose in smaller tanks in the past, but never got a common pleco because of the size. I have a 65 gallon tank currently, but will be moving this entire community into a larger tank when...

    Kissing gourami and pleco growth?

Hey everybody! I have two pretty simple questions. Firstly I was wondering how long it takes for a kissing gourami to reach full size? My gourami Adonis has been with me for over a year now, and while he has grown a bit I thought he would be bigger by now. Secondly, basically the same question...
