Freshwater fish for a 50 liters tank

mhm. yeah no, it wouldn't work. tank size is 38x26x41.5cm that's not wide enough

Freshwater fish for a 50 liters tank

...unless 2-3 male guppies (if I find some living together) could work? some sources say the minimum size should be 5 gallons, some say 10. mine is halfway through, 8gal. also, the ph and gh for them should be just fine as is.

Freshwater fish for a 50 liters tank

I'd much rather get nothing than a betta and shrimp arent available here. only small shrimp I've seen is one lone cherry shrimp. I'll definitely use this info in the future when I'm able to get something bigger, thank you

Freshwater fish for a 50 liters tank

sadly I'll have to discontinue my project as I had less space available as I thought I did. a shame, really. now, its 30 liters or nothing, which I honestly don't even know what to use it for.

Freshwater fish for a 50 liters tank

for now I'm thinking about softening it slightly to keep boraras (I'll see what I can find) and pygmy corys. 9-10 for each would work fine in the 15 gal or am I mistaken? the ph isnt a problem if I add some distilled, neutral water, right?

Freshwater fish for a 50 liters tank

can we keep this civil please? yeah, I meant french degrees, and that's ok. if my water is that restrictive I don't mind buying dechlorinated water from a store, it's not a big deal.

Freshwater fish for a 50 liters tank

I couldn't find out my water's KH, only its pH (7,7) and its GH (21°F). hope that helps

    Unpopular Opinions (fish related)

but doesn't it make you sad seeing a fish in a small aquarium? I'm not an expert but I'm pretty sure any fish wouldn't mind some extra space if it has enough places to hide in, just like any animal.

    Unpopular Opinions (fish related)

Fully agreed! I think background-less aquariums look way better, unless you have some really bright colored fish and a dull enclosure. imo the prettiest aquariums are those that can be seen from any angle

Freshwater fish for a 50 liters tank

i dont think I understand. does that mean that if I have enough space for 10 nano fish I can get more because they're shoaling fish and dont mind sharing space? wouldn't that make the aquarium too crowded?

Freshwater fish for a 50 liters tank

gotcha. snail it is then. if guppies are alright, can I have a range of how many I could deal with? do you have other recommendations? as for the aquascaping, are there any types of organic decorations I should avoid?

Freshwater fish for a 50 liters tank

oh, I just thought of something. are there any reasonably sized cleaner fish I could keep there if I forget about keeping any more than 2 other nano fish? I dont know what genius they belong in so I'm not sure where to look for info. thank you so much for your patience.

Freshwater fish for a 50 liters tank

again, I'm not looking specifically for neon tetras, I'd be fine anything that won't restrict me to keep only one fish given it can happily live in how much space I have available. sadly I have limited space and I really can't afford a 20 gallon, especially if it's long. dwarf shrimp were an...

Freshwater fish for a 50 liters tank

That's not a problem! I'm just seeing what I can get at the moment, I haven't purchased a tank yet, so I'm just seeing my options for the space I have available. I'm much more concerned with keeping the right kind of fish than getting a specific breed ;) as for water parameters, I'll let you...

Freshwater fish for a 50 liters tank

Hello! I'm a beginner that's planning on purchasing her first 55 liter tank (aquascape 55 start, to be specific). that's about 14 gallons. I'd like to get either a small school of male guppies, mixed cardinals or mixed neon tetras. I was told for that size tank I could get them, but I shouldn't...
