I'm not the owner and I bought the product whilst she was away whilst I was petsitting. I will have to explain how this product works and what the list of ingredients are. The sales assistant stated that this product would eliminate chlorine from tap water.

I didn't see anything listed and had to look up the product on the shop's site. What ingredient should be listed to remove chlorine ? If that is the case, I will take it back. It's hardly going to win the owner over as if I've been doing something dumb she will not listen to my arguments for...

Why is that. Moreover, I will have to explain to the owner what this product is and why I used it. :oops:

Just one question; isn't it possible to use something else that has a coloured light instead of a laser beam ?:) Coloured fairy lights that twinkle. I have tons of them.:)

Totally agree but a laser pen could get into the wrong hands. Moreover, even if one is careful, it could accidentally slip and the beam could hit the eye. Surely there are other colourful lights that exist to entertain a pet? The risk is not worth it as eyes are so precious. :)

I see. I'm only asking as the cube shaped one would be better on her kitchen counter top. I also read that they need to come to the surface and the swim in a cube could be too difficult ? :sad: If it doesn't get a new tank and gear, it won't last long. Each and every creature deserves the best...

Day 7 & Finale. So I went to check on the pet every 30 minutes yesterday and 6 hours after the water change (6pm) it started to swim. Up until then it was just floating and looking at it's own reflexion in the mirror. It also ate the pellets that I gave it. So, it seemed back to normal. I...

That's surely a very good idea but it's not my pet.;) I went to the garden centre to see what tanks and accessories are available and they add up to approx. 80 €. I will Google the algae to see what it looks like. Thank you for helping.

No bubbles. I went to see it twice ( every 30 minutes) and it looks a tiny bit better because it swam- not far mind you. It's now sort of floating near the side where I've left the hot water bottle. I hope that I didn't do anything wrong but it doesn't look perky.

It's been over an hour since I changed the water and the pet is still not swimming and in the same place and gulping air. It looks strange and like something is wrong. :sad: Could it really be so stressed out by the change of water and container?

Owls are gorgeous animals and I must say that it's not often that you see them.

Thank you for giving such a detailed response. I will go and buy the wc tomorrow and have a look at the aquariums plus a heater. Anyway, at least he seems all warm and toasty for the time being.

@Hopeful ,OM gosh, I have just re read your post and you meant that I should use a cup and not a net. :unsure: I actually find that may be better. A net is flimsy whereas a cup is sturdy. I could also filter some of the dirty war through a paper towel to get rid of the residue.
