Hi, Just got two 18 x 12 x 15 tanks which i intend to stock with corys and small tetras. I will have a sponge filter in each tank. Would i need an air pump for each or can i use one pump which i can add some sort of t-piece to the hose to feed both tanks. If so, i have been looking at Rena air...

    Blue/purple Emperor Tetra

Hi rubyuk, Fast as in swimming around the tank, very active and seem happy using all levels of the tank. Don't bother any of the other species in the tank and never seen them fin nip. Great little fish. Think the Emperor tetras (Nematobrycon Palmeri) are more inclined to nip and are bigger than...

I have six Trilineatus corys in a tank with twenty two small tetras that i got on Sunday. My New Cory Cats

Hi backtotropical, I bought six on Sunday exactly the same as yours from a shop in Glasgow. They were also advertised as Julli's but after reading your posts i knew what to look for. They definately look like Trilineatus. Their cracking little fish and seem to be enjoying their new environment.

    Blue/purple Emperor Tetra

Looking for a bit of advice. On Sunday i bought seven of what i was told were Emperor Tetras but on observing the fish and what i've gleaned from the internet they aren't. Emperor tetras (Nematobrycon palmeri) have no adipose fin but mine have. Mine seem to be (inpaichthys kerri) but depending...

    Plants Alive

Fast delivery service, although plants weren't labelled which made it hard to differentiate the smaller similar plants, plus wash them thoroughly as i'm still removing snails daily even after cleaning them prior to planting. Plants are growing great though.

Fishless Cycle, How Much Longer ?

Thanks Miss Wiggle, I've waited this long so another week or so won't hurt me and more importantly my fish, (when i eventually get them), it's just so frustrating watching a lovely planted but fishless tank, starting to look increasingly grungy by the day, Cheers, Alan

I'm planning to buy six panda corys for a community tank and was wondering if they need any type of shelter to hide in. Ammonia was back down to 0, Nitrite turned purple, instead of the dark blue of yesterday, as soon as i put drops in (Take it it's off the scale) and Nitrate was 5. Added 4.5 mls of Ammonia to bring it back up to 4ppm. Will check again tomorrow.
