Ouch, that wouldn't have you rushing to make up a shoal in your tank

Do like the scats, the silver ones are without doubt nicer and much better tempered than the S argus. The T jaculatrix are in a 6x2x2 along with a couple of T chatareus. I bought them all at the same time but the T chatareus are now double the size of the T jaculatrix. No idea why and there...

    Toxotes Blythii

Reckon 5/6 with one of the bigger rainbows would look really good, might go that way once the silver scats I have with mine are big enough to join the T Jaculatrix. Really do need to get some pics on, not excuse apart from the fact they wont stay still :grr:

    Toxotes Blythii

Really pleased with them. Much prettier in the flesh than most of the pictures, with a much more golden colour. Looking forward to see how they develop, they certainly seem more gentle with each other than other types. Will try distracting the congoes but very concious of food going in to tank...

    Toxotes Blythii

Just interested in how people are getting on with them now that the initial interest seems to have calmed down. What are you keeping them with and how do they get on? I have mine with Congo tetras and find only problem is that they seem to love crickets etc even more than the archers and are...

Datnoid Microlepis, Tank Mates For Youngsters?

I have made the plunge and picked up 3 young D Microlepis, they are about 5 cm and have settled in well and are happily eating bloodworms, prawn and earthworm. I was hoping to add something that might help tidy up what they miss and hopefully help with their confidence but am worried that I add...

    Some Scat And Archerfish Thoughts!

Thanks for the prompt reply. Will just keep what I am doing then, was just surprised by the apparent difference in the growth rate between the species but good to know nothing to worry about.

    Some Scat And Archerfish Thoughts!

Just wondering what people think of mixing Scatophagus multifasciatus with Scatophagus Argus. I have a pair of the former in one of my tanks but added a red version of the later recently after I lost it's partner. Although the red is approx half the size of the silvers it is constantly...
