    Something wrong with cory

Of course it is possible for corys to acclimate to different conditiins. If they are bred in this water then ph is not the problem. I would go for the cleanup and water change. FYI the fish I had did not die from this and the white fluf never healed. Keep us posted. Cheers

    Something wrong with cory

Yeah I think its related. I had the same problem with a number of corys and high 8.2 ph. 8.5 is very high and way outside the normal range for corys. I asked around a lot when I had this problem and most said that it is a water quality issue. If so then a water change is not enough. You need to...

Help with white growth (not ich) on cory fins

Thanks Byron. I got the same answer from another forum so I am definitely getting some substrate. The sand in our area is very salty so would need to get it from another source. I got a recommendation to get silica/quartz sand used for pool filters. Is this good? Thank you!

Help with white growth (not ich) on cory fins

Hi Colin Thank's for your quick reply. I did not add anything to the tanks and have no substrate. Will follow your advice (probably should have cleaned the filters a while ago..). Regarding salt, I have used salt in past with other fish and this is always the first thing I do with sick fish but...

Help with white growth (not ich) on cory fins

Hi all I have been keeping several cory spp. for about three months. Some of the fish have a white growth on their fins and not on any other body part (please see pic). The growth is rather large white usually round but sometimes goes along the fin appearing on the caudal or dorsal fins mostly...

    Corydoras and high ph

Thank you for your reply. This certainly helped calm me down. I will bring them in and write and update. I am assuming that the grower I buy them from will have them in lower ph so I will acclimate them slowly and hopefully they will be fine. The water in our area is naturally brackish and is...

    Corydoras and high ph

Hi all This topic has been discussed here before and I have also looked in many other discussion groups and websites but I am still not sure about this as there is a lot of contradicting information. I have been successfully growing and breeding bronze corys in the past two months in a ph of...
