    Brown Algae ? Yet Again

Maybe because the tank is 3 months old??? New bulb in light, it is on approx 10 hrs per day...2 amazon swords, 1 moss type plant, a ludiga (sp?) I think and not sure what the other plant is, but it is one that fish love to nibble on. Weekly small water changes...haven't had any issues with...

    Brown Algae ? Yet Again

Okay....I got the normal brown algae in my 64 g tank so I added 4 ottos, lost one within a week, another is playing dead off and on and then swims off to eat some more. They don't seem to be making a noticeable difference in the algae as of yet, although they are eating all of the time! Is...

Are These Good Prices For Tanks ?

Regardless of the price you might want to make sure you can get other necessary items to go with the tanks...ex. hoods, covers, lights. We purchased 3 used tanks and had a devil of a time getting a cover for the 90 gallon because it was so old. Newer tanks have a center brace, this one...

    Can Oscars Eat Platy's

That is the plan...let the platy's do what they want and feed them to the oscars instead of buying feeders!

    Strange Clown Behavior

You are right...most new owners don't know about how big clowns get...they are just so irrestible in the stores! Right now, they are in a 64 gallon with plans to add 75 or 90 to my collection next fall...which should be plenty of time before they outgrow this one. Since I got some of my tanks...

    Strange Clown Behavior

Twice now I have seen my clown loaches "white out", the first time I got concerned thinking some kind of fishy disease and I would lose it, but later the coloring was as vibrant as always so I figured it was just a quirky "can't see thru the bubbly water very well". Today I found 2 clowns both...

    Can Oscars Eat Platy's

The platy's will not be a staple diet...he has about 4 different flake, pellet, and freeze dried food, plus the frozen cichlid delite and beefheart. Not to mention when I feed my tropicals any frozen food they get the leftovers! I have a dwarf puffer who ONLY eats snails and frozen bloodworm...

    Can Oscars Eat Platy's

My husband has 2 oscars in a 90 gallon...a 75 will be set up this fall to move one of them to....just waiting until after camping season to start his 2nd tank. Anyway...my girls have platy's that LOVE to breed....another platy purchase not knowing how fast they have babies! The other com. fish...

    Want Gouramis

I don't want to end up with a couple of fish constantly fighting...I love the males coloring, don't wish to breed...would like to have a couple of dwarfs and maybe pearls but I want to make sure they will all be happy!

    Want Gouramis

I just bought a 29 gal tank and want to put gouramis in it...but am seeing info pertaining to territorial issues and male fighting. Can you put a single male of different species in, or do you need a pair? Are they better off keeping only 1 male or pair per tank? I love the colors on these...
