Hey. No I don’t have a wave maker in there just an external filter. I think the flow rate is 1400lph. No no PH controller. The substrate is tropica soil.

So do you think I should get rid of the plant light? If so what is the actual point in the plant light? If I did that could I get a second white light?

I don’t know the spectrum I’ll try and find out. Ah ok. I’ve just rooted through my cupboards and I do have a bottle of aquadip plant food and a bottle of tropica specialised nutrition. Could I dose either of these before I buy a bottle of TNC lite? Thanks

Both lights are on for the 5.5 hours. Yes there’s more reddish lights in the RGB light. Some blues and I think very few green In terms of ferts I’ve actually stopped putting them in. I was using flourish excel but thought it was making the problem worse.

I do water changes twice a week so can’t afford to get RO water that often. Does peat work well?

Hi guys, My tap waters PH has risen slightly it’s at around 7.6. What’s natural that I can put into the tank to lower it. I have wood and cattapa bark in there at the moment.

Thanks for the reply. Just done another waterchange and tested again and it’s come down to 0.25. I’ll do another waterchange tomorrow and hopefully that will sort it. I’ve also put some disease away + in too to try and help. Yeh she’s not looking too good just resting on the floor ?

I done a waterchange just before I tested. I’ve been struggling getting the ammonia down as of late. Is there any thing else I can do besides waterchanges to reduce it?

Thanks for the reply. I don’t think she’s a slow Eater she’s usually the first to the top to eat. Her stomach has just really gone inwards. Could it be a internal bacteria?

Cheers guys. I wasn’t sure because she’s quite a decent size compared to my other female and the male keeps chasing her every time she goes near. He doesn’t do this with the other smaller female. Is this anything to worry about?

Thanks for this Byron. I’ve just seen them getting really close inside a rock crevice and picking at the rock. Looks like they are pairing up they’ve started swimming round a lot more too.

Thanks for this Byron. I’ve only had the (potential) male for about 3 days but he’s started getting close to the female and doing like this little shake movement and then swimming away. Water temp is 26 so I’ll raise that a little bit. 0 nitrates 0 nitrites and PH is about 6.8.
