I would personally wait a couple days until you can get some dechlorinator, RO water, or have set the water out for a couple days to let it dechlorinate via aeration. JMO though.

I'm worried about this little girl. I put her in a separate tank...acclimated her...and now don't see her anywhere. I haven't seen her swim to the top for air for about an hour. I hope she's not hiding for the end... :( Okay...now I see her. She's just hiding. She's about double the size...

Thanks. I thought she was, but then when she flares she loses the curve a bit (doesn't look AS curvy as the female VTs in the thread to id them). :)

You think she's really a VT? Her caudal doesn't really show any curvature. I love the male!! Good luck!

Okay guys, so I cleaned the tank with a bleach and vinegar mix (I read on another forum that vinegar helps the bleach with the disenfecting process) using half a bottle of vinegar, 1 /12 gal bleach, and 54 G water, then I siphoned all the water out. Then I took another 4-5 gallons and poured it...

He could still be very young, and not properly nurished while he was growing, leading to a smaller adult stature. I'm not sure. My little CT guy is pretty small too compared to other bettas I've seen, but he's still quite ornery! And congrats on getting a new boy! Can't wait to see pictures...

I don't think so. I think what will end up coming out of this...or the next generation of crosses would be combtails. I'm not certain though.

I was planning to do the "add more water per week" method I've read on other forums. That way, they gradually get used to having to swim higher and higher. I suppose my double spawn question will be a judgment call, depending on how many of the fry make it to that point. If I only have 10...

So, tonight I'm going to get a handle. Here's another question about the tank though... Do you think I could put a divider in the middle of it and successfully raise 2 spawns of fry? Talk amongst yourselves. ;)

Anyone know of any "good" brands? Should I get a 200w, or a 250w so it doesn't have to work as hard? I'd prefer one that has the temp setting visible so I know about what I'm setting it at. Thanks for any help you can give!
