I'm so excited...but so worried at the same time. I was supposed to be receiving 6 fish...now I have no idea where the other 2 little girls are. kay...without further ado... My HM MG Male "Iradium" HM Yellow Pearl male "Alpha" DT/VT red marble male "Jagger" Female...

    *the Anticipation*

He's very cute! I like his coloring. Caudal fins are a bit uneven, but a beautiful fish nonetheless! Hopefully he'll heal quickyl! I looked at this thread yesterday and no pictures were showing up. Did you just post them?

    Gah! Sick, And In Trouble!

I would personally wait a couple days until you can get some dechlorinator, RO water, or have set the water out for a couple days to let it dechlorinate via aeration. JMO though.

    New Female...purple Cambodian?

I'm worried about this little girl. I put her in a separate tank...acclimated her...and now don't see her anywhere. I haven't seen her swim to the top for air for about an hour. I hope she's not hiding for the end... :( Okay...now I see her. She's just hiding. She's about double the size...

Ohh...I want to see them! :)

    New Female...purple Cambodian?

Thanks. I thought she was, but then when she flares she loses the curve a bit (doesn't look AS curvy as the female VTs in the thread to id them). :)
  9. constantine03

    Spawning Blah Blah!

You think she's really a VT? Her caudal doesn't really show any curvature. I love the male!! Good luck!

    New Female...purple Cambodian?

Okay, also, if she IS a female...do you think she's just a VT, or could she possibly be a delta/SD?

    New Female...purple Cambodian?

Could "she" be a "he"?? She's breathing heavily and I can see some red gills sticking out. Not flaring, so I can't tell, but could it actually be a male PK? More pictures: (gill's showing a bit) (Closer to actual color)

    New Female...purple Cambodian?

I was at Walmart today buying my dogs some rawhide chews, and of course I had to go by and see what bettas they had. Well, this female was sitting right in the front, and I've never seen one quite like her so I had to get her. The pictures really didn't turn out showing her true color. She's...

    The Best Of Aquabid

Ooh. I saw the grey/white guy. He had a sibling male of that fish on there too...I liked him a lot, but now I can't find the auctions. :( I wrote and asked about a female from the pair. I want to buy her so bad, but I can't buy just ONE fish and justify the shipping price. She's white and...

    Bought A Used Tank...

Okay guys, so I cleaned the tank with a bleach and vinegar mix (I read on another forum that vinegar helps the bleach with the disenfecting process) using half a bottle of vinegar, 1 /12 gal bleach, and 54 G water, then I siphoned all the water out. Then I took another 4-5 gallons and poured it...

Who Here Has A Drip System?

That's different, but doesn't seem as practical as the ones I've seen. Take a look at this thread from another forum. It has a lot of pictures of peoples drip systems, but no real "how to" set up bit. http://www.bettas4all.nl/viewtopic.php?t=225

Who Here Has A Drip System?

So, Yes...who? And if you do, can you post pictures and tell what you did to make it? I'm looking into this as changing water in jars everyday seems a bit impractical. I have no idea where to start though! If anyone would like to take the time to write a step-by-step...that would be amazing!

My First Crowntail (male)-he's So Tiny, But Sweet!

He could still be very young, and not properly nurished while he was growing, leading to a smaller adult stature. I'm not sure. My little CT guy is pretty small too compared to other bettas I've seen, but he's still quite ornery! And congrats on getting a new boy! Can't wait to see pictures...

    Crowntail X Veiltail

I don't think so. I think what will end up coming out of this...or the next generation of crosses would be combtails. I'm not certain though.

I Went To My Lfs Today, And The Females Weren't Females!

I went to Petsmart to get some snails last night and there was a father/daughter buying one of those tiny, not even a gallon, tanks. He had two cups in his hands...a female and a male. I just walked up to him and politely said, "Those guys will probably hurt each other if you put them...

Will This Work For My Grow Out Tank?

Okay. I put a handle on it tonight...I think it looks better. Yay. :) Still debating whether or not it'll be possible to divide it.

I Went To My Lfs Today, And The Females Weren't Females!

Well, that's not true...some of them were. However, in the same tank there were at least 4 HMPK! They were chasing everyone a bit, and getting along so so. I imagine they were siblings. There was this one- he looked like a red cambo, but when he turned sideways his white turned to a bluish...

Will This Work For My Grow Out Tank?

I was planning to do the "add more water per week" method I've read on other forums. That way, they gradually get used to having to swim higher and higher. I suppose my double spawn question will be a judgment call, depending on how many of the fry make it to that point. If I only have 10...

Will This Work For My Grow Out Tank?

So, tonight I'm going to get a handle. Here's another question about the tank though... Do you think I could put a divider in the middle of it and successfully raise 2 spawns of fry? Talk amongst yourselves. ;)

Will This Work For My Grow Out Tank?

I'm assuming that I'll just have to not fill it up with water all the way? I don't know. It's a 56 gallon tall, which means the little guys will have to swim further than normal to get to the top. I'm kind of proud of the tank ATM. See below for the before and after pictures. That's how I...

How Hard Do You Think It Would Be To Make These?

I was planning to make them larger, but I went to Lowe's and priced plexiglass tonight...and there's no way I'm taking on this project. A little 8x10" sheet was $20!

How Hard Do You Think It Would Be To Make These?

Okay, so maybe you wouldn't have THAT many jars...but still...I have a 56 gal tall aquarium for my grow out tank, and I was thinking that if I could make these things to line the inside top of the tank, it would be better for them (constant water flow), and less cluttered for me. How hard do...

Heaters...what's The Best For My 56g Tall?

Anyone know of any "good" brands? Should I get a 200w, or a 250w so it doesn't have to work as hard? I'd prefer one that has the temp setting visible so I know about what I'm setting it at. Thanks for any help you can give!
