I have a common black swordtail that I have had for a few months now. I’d say he’s gone over her as I have a few little ones with that beautiful patchy coloration.

they sound like detritus worms. They are not harmful to you shrimp, fish etc

So after 2 hrs and destroying my tank I managed to get both of the little buggers out. One was easy and swam straight into the net, it was the 2nd one that took me for a tank ride

yeah could have been. Could of been lack of calcium from the previous owner. That how my little guy got his. Poor water conditions can also do it too

One of my MS has the same thing, he had it when I first got him. It’s due to lack of calcium. The little one will have that for the rest of it’s life but won’t affect it.

Give it time to settle it could be a stir up from your substrate. Did you clean the filter too?
