or get a fluval, a much better filter and ajustable flow. Those elite things are the worst filters on the market IME. Far less space for media than both the fluvals (even the old 'plus' ones) and the eheim aquaballs.

well are the boese's adult size? the problem you are having is guppies are slower swimming fish and they boesemani's are the opposite. that way they will bully the guppies. its the same as having large barbs and rainbowfish with discus. (people say its a no no) if i was you, i would get rid of...

i would go for that clean look. a proper mbuna tank. (i dont really care what section its in, its cichlid related) the blues, purples and yellows look amazing.
