    Fire Extinguisher Co2

I would say this bottle is at between 52 and 55 bar. Hard to tell. Might just be the operating pressure of this bottle I guess Cheers Aaron EDIT - Its now just under 60 bar - guess the bottle had been out in the cold

    Fire Extinguisher Co2

My 3kg bottle has arrived but the pressure in the bottle is only just above 50 bar! Is this in an issue with Pub bottles? Perhaps it will stay at the same reading for ages? Cheers Aaron

    Drop Checker Location

Hi Guys Just been thinking about my drop checker. I am only injecting 6bpm into my tank which seems massively low - yet my drop checker is verging on yellow. However I have realised that it is on the same side of the tank as the diffusor. I am guessing this is not ideal. I have moved it to...

    Fire Extinguisher Co2

Yeah its a proper reg. I have just found somewhere that does 3kg Cylinders - 50 quid no refundable deposit to get the bottle - then £14.28 to get it swapped for a full one! 3kg should last me an age Aaron

    Co2 And Bubble Counting

Ahh right - that might be why I need to tweak the operating pressure for a while. Out of interest what size is your tank. Would be interested to know what bubble counts people operate at - i know this is very much dependent on tank, and planting levels, surface agitation etc. The dennerle...

    Co2 And Bubble Counting

Ok cool I have ordered a bubble counter from AE. The pressure was a 1 earlier - have just come back from the cinema and it was back at 0 - although it might have been that I hadnt set it properly and it slowly dropping as the co2 was used or something. Not too sure - will monitor it. I...

    Co2 And Bubble Counting

Hey All I have just got my pressurised CO2 and have set it up as per the manual I am trying to get the system running at 10 bubbles per minute as a starting point. This is fine in principal - I stick the tube in a glass of water and adjust the needle valve - voila. However when I add the...

    Algae On Sand

The main causes of this are build ups of ammonia/fish waste in an area. What is the filtration like in your tank? I had a dead spot where a piece of wood was blocking the flow to one corner of my tank. I removed the wood and the BGA went away. Aaron

    Flourish Excell To Kill Algae

Hey Some people use it to kill algae - the dose I have seen banded about is 3 times the standard dose. So In my case that is 9ml of it a day. Burning through my bottle rather quickly lol. It doesnt seem to be affecting my shrimp Cheers Aaron

    Anyone Tried This?

I use the Nutrafin system its pretty good. However you have to be very strict with the changing of the mix to keep your co2 stable Aaron

    Co2 Makes Algae Go Away?

Hi Evad One of the main causes of algae is unstable CO2 - so by getting a decent stable C02 system running the algae is less likely to be triggered. However CO2 is not a miracle cure and it wont just dissapear. Really you need to get the CO2 stable, remove all of the algae and it shouldn't...

    Yeast Based Co2

Hi Maximinius How large is your tank? It all depends on the size. I have a 30 gallon and use one nutrafin kit with an additional 500ml pop bottle plumbed in and it works ok I don't use the nutrafin yeast stuff - its crap. I use Allinsons yeast and mix it with sugar and water. Cheers Aaron

    Diffusing Co2

Hey The main reason people tend to avoid that technique is because of the noise air bubbles make when they are fed into the impellor The more specialised equipment ensures better Co2 diffusion - requiring less co2 to achieve the desired PPM Cheers Aaron

    What Happens When You

Sorry to bring a thread back from the dead... What doses are people using to get this effect? Would be worth a go in my tank - got a bit of a BBA infestation. Caused by unstable Co2 - waiting on a pressurised co2 system to sort that out. Cheers Aaron

    Buying Maracyn In The Uk

I have my Maracyn now but the BGA is going away without it - have upped ferts and am sticking to the regime which I think is key. I have also sorted the flow issues out - I think the power head was badly placed and a large plant was blocking the flow to that end of the tank Aaron

Going To Go Pressurised With My Co2
