    Hardscape

Kia Ora, Thanks for the reply, Maidenhead is about ten minutes from me, and they do carry some hardscape, the larger pieces I'm looking for they don't have. The stone is also very limited in type and style. But it's ok. Nice people for sure. Plants and rock are also limited around here, there's...

    Hardscape

Thanks for the reply Wills. I've looked at Maidenhead and Ings and while they do have a reasonable selection they don't carry larger pieces which I'm looking for. Horizon sounds good.... I'll see if they have a website. Do you have a favourite online seller? I'm looking for something authentic...

    Stop Algae filter cartridges

I think this is a bit of snake oil, water changes and a UV filter would be a good go to. As others have said.

    Hardscape

Kia Ora. Hi, does anyone know of anywhere in the East Yorkshire area that has a good selection of large hardscape? Although I don't mind a drive for the right place. What do people do usually, are many of you shopping online? I have an image in my head now of what I want wood wise, stones I'm...

    Snake oil?

Kia Ora Thank you for your quick reply, Yeah I get the feeling it would work on micro organisms directly between the electrodes, but that big white plume I can't see doing anything but look like its doing something... UV filters are the way to go. Especially for algae control.

    Snake oil?

Kia Ora. I am very technical... electronics all my life, in fact I test Beta (No pun intended) products for a couple of Chinese tech companies, then write reports etc.. So I have seen enough very beneficial technology to be open to it, for example I absolutely believe all tanks should have a UV...

    Kia Ora. Hi.

No I was usually on ships down the rocks, then it was China town and the Cross :-). I cycled a great deal in those days so a friend and I would get up early and cycle over to Bondi every morning before workI did get to Newcastle a few times, but it was tumbleweed city by then. But I've spent a...

    Kia Ora. Hi.

Kia Ora, Thanks for the reply. I do love the Akashi Amano style... I was lucky enough to work in Japan for a year and got to the Amano aquatic centre! Stunning. It was interesting that the guide told us Amano built his first tank with plants from his village paddy field and fish in local...

    Kia Ora. Hi.

Kia Ora. Wow thanks so much for your reply..... really great info, I've been in Maidenhead today and the guy in there was super nice, because of my arthritis he said he could assemble the stand for me, I asked how much and he said rather surprised "nothing", I'd likely slip him 20 to get a beer...

    Kia Ora. Hi.

I am a believer in the theory of the absurdity of life as espoused by Albert Camus. Absurdity. Walking through the streets of shame I’m a man with no name. I’m blinded by the pain and absorb all the futility of it. Albert Camus strolled by my side, A wry smile upon his face. He laughs at my...

    Kia Ora. Hi.

Yes when I looked at stuff Fluval seem to have everything dialled in at that price point... lights, tanks, cabinets, the attention to detail. Down to soft closing hinges and the canister filters seem brilliant... the 07 range. Technology of aquatics has left me behind I'm afraid, but there is so...

    Kia Ora. Hi.

Thanks for the kind words and advice, its helped me feel reassured. (Sorry about the Bledisloe Cup ;-). (Go Black or go home!. Having said that I've spent ages in Australia. Where about are you?

    Kia Ora. Hi.

Hahaha yeah it's a problem because I'm sketching out a couple of aquascapes, very different, I'm torn between a Congo impression, but also by nature I'm drawn towards Zen. I'll definitely get that wall right though. Thank you for your kind welcome.

    Kia Ora. Hi.

Reading your bio you are amazingly well accomplished, I've been watching a lot of stuff on Josh Lim lately and of course Amano. I was very interested when I saw the list of world and national champions... (This is in NO way a racist comment) but I was shocked how many over achieving aquascapers...

    Kia Ora. Hi.

Kia Ora Jay, thank you for your kind words... photography sort of became hard for me to stay with when anyone with photoshop can knock out something half decent that you've got up at 3 am to capture on your ectachrome. The golden triangle is important in any visual art form and worth...

    Kia Ora. Hi.

Hi there I'm called Phil, I live in East Yorkshire although I'm a Kiwi. (Miss my mountains and bush). I'm retired now, but worked for the military for a while as a naval officer before joining a civilian shipping company as Chief Electrical Engineering officer, I also passed Marine Engineering...
