last friday my male and female betta from synirr arrived, i have each in a 2.5 gallon tank. i didn't realize they were going to be so young and small, so now i have a question about feeding. my adult female bettas i feed once a day or every other day. how often should i feed my babies? i know in raising guppy fry, the more you feed the fast they will grow. i don't know if this applies and i don't want to overfeed. what is everyone else doing with their babies from synirr?

here are pictures! they have yet to be named, i'm open to suggestions.

here is my female:

and here is my male- he has a thing for the moss ball :hey:

and just for fun, here is my sorority tank which someday my young female will go into, unless i want to keep her at my desk with me :D

I can't blame the little guy for being infatuated with the moss ball, it's awesome

As for your question- synirr may offer better advice since they're from her but I think you should feed them twice a day for a bit longer. They still have mucho growing to do.

wuv, that's what i've been doing. just wanted to be sure it was ok and not too much. thanks!

Awww, they look like they're doing so well with you
I agree with Wuv, that is one awesome moss ball! I'll have to break down and order some of those one day.

I've been feeding the juvies twice a day; usually one big meal of frozen brine shrimp and bloodworms when I get home from class, and a snack of Atison's Betta Pro pellets before bedtime :)

thanks synirr, i'm really enjoying them- they are so cute :) . i've only been feeding them pellets and the occasional tiny piece of vegetable since i got them. the city buses have been on strike here for the past two weeks. my university is on a hill above the city so it's been difficult getting anywhere off campus unless i want to bike uphill for 45 minutes- something that i'm often too lazy to do and by the time i get home, anything frozen will have probably melted. i'm going to try to get some bloodworms this weekend though, with hopes that the district meeting went well tonight and that the busses come back soon. also, i was wondering, are these bettas going to get to "normal" size? isn't their momma pretty small?

I dunno if they'll ever get to normal size or not, we'll just have to wait and see... both parents were pretty small, but yeah, Mini in particular is a tiny gal ^_^
