I posted this earlier on the livebearer section, I was asked to post here:
I have a male and female creamsicle molly in a 2 gallon tank. I perform weekly to bi-weekly water changes of 25%. I also keep 1 tsp of salt per the 2 gallons of water. Yesterday I noticed the female having a pinking hue to her right face and a hazy eye. She has been eating fine. I thought it may be some kind of fungus. Any help would be appreciated. I do have some pictures, not great, but I didn't see how I could post them. This is my first post here. Thanks.
I was told the tank was too small, especially for "active" livebearers, and was asked about water specs:
Thanks for the info. I didn't think about the breeding. But he does chase her quite often. This is a tank in my daughter's room. I have a 29 with swordtails in it. Will probably move them there. However, I still need to figure out what she has. Yes it is a cloudy eye. The tank is a marineland with a small eclipse filter and biowheel. Works pretty well for "small" situations in my opinion. However, these fish may be too active for this type of tank, I would agree. Have some small danios in one of my others, probably transplant them for her. Some stats:
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
PH 7.8
Nitrate - Oh my, why didn't I see this before 40-80. My bad. Will have to perform more water changes until I move them.
Any info on what she might have, and what to do would be appreciated. Thanks.
