I'm thinking of buying some of this sand for my latest zebra moray set up.

does any one have pictures of it being used in a tank before I commit my self though?

I have it in my black clown tank. It looks cool. Only thing I dont like is that where the powerheads make the sand move, the heavier pebbles of black dont move while the regular argonite sand does. So you have a pit with larger black pebbles in it after a while...other than that it looks great.

i dont suppose anyone has any thoughts on the Aragalive Bahamas Oolite Live Sand? :)

cheers aaron although that pictures just the usual on most sites that sell the stuff.

the Bahamas stuff is just extremely fine sand, the kind of grain size you use in FW tanks.

thanks :D sorry for the hijack, and the rubbish pic :S i read the message wrong, didnt realise you were asking JJ1234567 for a pic of his

would you recommend the bahamas stuff? im looking for a quite a light, fine sand. this seems to be perfect. Is there any disadvantages?

I used to use caribsea sugarfine sand.
It looked really nice but a real pain in the rear end! The slightest flow across the sand will cause huge plumes of sand in the water
The fine sand is also very poor was harbouring life as its much harder for creatures to burrow through it and craete a working sandbed. Whilst its not impossible to have life get a foothold on fine sand, it is very much more limited. I would recomend a coarser sand or perhaps a mixture so that there is a varied amound of grades for life to burrow through.

I"ve heard the find sand becomes impacted easier and the black sand is a PITA to keep clean. SH

How do you mean to keep clean? as in bits of muck showing up?

Unless someone can show me what it's like first then I'll probable just go with the carib sea fiji live sand.

Paul

I will pm you a link to some piccies
