well just wanted to post an update of my nano tank ! so far the battle with algae is turning out well! and glosso is starting to carpet low and pearling along with the hemianthus

New things learned while fiddling around with a nano tank.
1) glosso will somewhat grow upwards for a little while (around 1 1/2 weeks) then carpet if provided with enough lighting

2) dont mix rams with shrimps in a small tank!!! even if the rams didn't rip the larger shrimps apart, some of the shrimps jumped out of the tank when they got chased by the rams

3) common pond snails are quite efficient in eliminating surface scum and algae

4) never underestimate the importance of an algae eating crew

5) the EI works for small tanks too! :)

thats about it... comments and suggestions peeps ? :)

Good tips

Another few weeks and it will look tons better and i dont see any algae

the pic is doing the algae no justice :D the spots on the pic are green spot algae and the fuzziness on the plants is brown algae :D heheehhehe i dont know how to make my camera zoom in close enough to take pics of the algae of the shrimps :(

Hey kpe,

Great lil tank you have started - What sort of lighting do you use?

i just use a standard daylight 23W bulb CF that is :) works fine for me.... note im injecting C02! thats why the lighting is high (actually IMO its a bit overkill)
