Well, as I promised I went to my favorite LFS today to cheer me up. Of course, I come home with some rasboras and the tiny corydoras habrosus. No bettas, they just didn't look good to me, I'm very happy with my boys, which makes finding others very hard. Also, I removed the divide in the tank and everybody is enjoying the new space. Fasolt's like "Whooooaaa, so much more room to swim!" Behind the wisteria is a wall of anacharis that just has to grow to the top. Here is a picture, 'cause I know ya love pics . Let me know what you think. I always like peoples' opinions on tank decor, and since I post most here, and it is technically a betta tank, despite the 9 rasboras that would beg to differ.
I also took the opportunity with a few extra bits and pieces of java fern and surplus tank supplies to set up a 1g lighted tank with one of those small kritter keeper filters. I don't know what it'll house, probably nothing. It cost me nothing to make, just had the stuff lying around. I may use it as a hospital tank or an isolation ward, since I can't treat my planted tanks with meds, and java fern is easily available to replace any lost through med treatment. It's not the best place to house a betta, too small, IMHO, but it may be a good temporary home if I find something really special. I just have to remind myself to feed it also, as the plants need some nutrients to absorb.
Well, let me know what ya think of the tank. It's pretty much stocked, so I can sit back and relax. I have a good feeling, barring any disasters, these guys are going home with me to Miami, where I'll give them an even better home.
