Here are my tanks. It's about time I put them up.

The first is my 15-gallon planted that houses Fassolt, Fafner (two supposed HM, I think they're DT, though), some Bridget rasboras, and a school of Harlequins. The tank has been running for two years, but I just redecorated and basically had to start over again, when neighbor's kids put a whole container of food in it,

This next one is my recently created betta setup. It is a 10-gallon. In it are two out of the three bettas it can hold, Loge and Donner. It isn't quite where I'd like it to be, but I just set it up today, so it should get better with age.

Thank you, that is all for now...

They both look incredible!

Your plants look great, what lighting are you running in each tank?

I'm not quite sure what your referring to. I don't have a black fish, the obsidian is black, however, and that may be what you're seeing? :dunno:

To answer the previous lighting question. The 15 gallon has an 15 watt Coral life Nutri-grow (something or other) on a regular tank fixture. It is suplemented by a 20 watt grow light that I had left over from my office when I was teaching. That tank is also near a window and close to another grow light that I use for my African violiets. I just stuck the growlight at an angle on top of my glass hood, not so pretty, but it seems to be working, and I can kind of play with sunrise and sunset conditions by turning on and off lights at different times.

The second tank has a similar set up. The standard 15 watt, I ordered a Coral life bulb, and a 10 watt supplemental growlight, which will probably end up being temporary, as that one was not really designed for plants. I'd like to find at least a 12 or 15 watt standard grow light, as that wil jack up the lighting to near or at 3 wpg, which will be sweet. This set up is still new, so it will still need some tweaking. It is nice because the shallowness of the tank is I think gonna allow me to experiment with some of the more light hungry species.

Thanks for asking, and thank you for commenting on my tank. I'm probably gonna get rid of the background in the 15 once the plants reach the top.

Those are both amazing  What a great job you've done! They're plenty spacious AND with live plants, your bettas are spoiled B) That's awesome.

Thanks, I've always enjoyed plants, you should see how many regular plants I have scattered about my apartment. My friends call my place the Rainforest Cafe. I also grow 8 rose bushes outside my apartment windows, I live sub basement, like a little hobbit. So, the aquatic plants are just an extension to growing regular plants.

I can only hope that my little men are happy. If you wanna see them, they are in a thread in the betta forum. I just upgraded my tanks lights, so now one of them gets 2.87 wpg and the other gets 3 wpg. Sweet, time for more plants. :hey:
