I am somewhat new to planted tanks, so they are not the gorgeous aquascapes that you see in magazines/books, but it is a start. I just use the "put it in there and see what happens" method  I find even with this method that a planted tank is very beautiful!

I have all filterless tanks with most of them having a soil/gravel substrate. I currently have about 20 tanks set up. With more on the way! I have set up a fish area in my basement.

I love livebearers and applesnails - Pomecea bridgesii

"In a rare moment, the elusive corybird was found perching atop of an unsuspecting applesnail!" It's kind of like cats laying on top of the TV, maybe it's warmer up there :D

My first filterless, soil substrate tank. 10gal. This tank gets some natural sunlight and has one standard flourescent.

The picture was taken on July 9,2003 when it was first set up.

One of my favorites so far. A 14 gal high tank with my blue spot platties. This tank has been set up since July 13,2003. Lighting was 30 watts standard flourescent. Recently converted to 36 watt power compact. With the Power compacts, I get some pearling!

My new blue applesnail babies. I would like to breed these. They are in a new 15 gal tank just set up a few days ago. I need to add lots more plants.

Beautiful pics, allnaturall. I'm slowly but surely trying to convert my turtle/molly tank into a natural tank...for a start, I have 2 amazon Swords, and as you know, getiing some plant bulbs.

I need some of that fluffy stuff (plants, I mean). Maybe I'll get some if my LFS ever gets it in stock.

Allnatural, finally, I saw your tank...it looks great I might add. The soil substrate did help, and from the looks of it, ALOT.

I need to find more fast growing plant(maybe tommorow)...I just replaced one of my bulbs to a kitchen and bath one(It was a cool white) so I hope my plants do better...also, it recives direct and indirect sunlight so I hope that helps, it is moderately planted ,too....,ostly anubias afzeliis and crypts....will post pic as soon as I borrowed a digital cam...it sucks not having one...lol

 Keep it up
