i was gonna make a banner but then i thought,
how do you guys cut (for example) one fish out of one picture and put it onto the banner so perfectly with out any other bits of the picture that it came from sticking out?
if i knew that, i would make so many we would need a new upgrade to host them all -_-

I'm not exactly sure if this is what you mean DD (very tired so I can't read things properly :p ) but when I'm cutting out a fish from a pic I just zoom in on the pic and erase around the fish (when zoomed in it's easier to erase IMO) then after you've erased an outline around the fish, zoom out and erase the rest, then you'll probably have to resize it so do that, and just drag it over onto the banner :D

If I misunderstood what you meant, I apologize :look:

Thats what i Do, But it took me ages to figure that part out. Also if you use a large size eraser you make a softer edge thus creating partial blending into the background. I like to Eraser in Paint Shop Pro, It Auto Erases' using the Background color used and any pattern settings you have active.

Making some now.

Ps Thats how I made My Sig. I use the Pippet to pick colors from the image to create the best possible blending in the gradient

thanks, big help, but once i erase everything else around the fish, how do it put it onto another background(ie the banner background) with out taking the whit back ground its on, with me?

i.e
taking this

Ohh I forgot about that :S

Open another file (blank, and make sure its about the same size as the original picture) and have it as a Transparent background, then drag the original picture onto the Transparent file, then erase what you don't want in the pic and merge them together, and then drag it onto the banner. That should work :)

Thanks for the help Wisk and Gill

EDIT: Sorry if i sound stupid asking this but where and how do you make it transparent?

PS - Once you have added Text to the Banner, How do you edit the text without another block of text pasting ontop of it.

Not bad Gill!

To whoever asked the other question:

Ifyou have adobe photoshop, there is several ways of doing it.

1) Go to filters (on the correct layer): Extract: then outline the bit YOU WANT TO KEEP. Then use the paint bucket TO FILL IN THE BIT YOU WANT. Then click OK.

2) Use either the lassoo tool or the magnetic lassoo tool.

3) Use the before mentioned way.

Emerald Skin banner. Chose a mainly arrowana version. Most of the bsckground is the scales from Paul_MTS' arrowana, also icludes pictures from SarahBravo of her LFS' (green??) Arrowana, CFC's Arrowana and Paul_MTS' oscar.
