I have just added 6 Black Phantom Tetras to my 180ltr tank and have noticed that the female had a slightly bent tail with a very small patch of white at the base just before her tail fins.
She isn't swimming around too much although she seems to get a little more active each day. Its her 3rd day in the tank now.
Is this just an injury caused when she was netted or something a bit more serious.
Pic attached.

One other possibility for the bent spine is Fish TB. Could you describe the white spot as more a spot where a scale has fallen out or a spot that has lost all its color?

Here is a list of other possible symptoms, but you won't see every symptom.

Symptoms can include: (I am not the author of this)

* Loss of appetite
* Progressive thinness
* Sluggish movement
* Folded fins
* Eye protrusion
* Dark coloration and granular appearance of the cornea (this is the first sign in Angelfish).
* Skeletal deformity
* Hanging at the surface
* Skin defects, including blood spots and open wounds that may ulcerate
* Black spots, or overall dark coloration (in Cichlids particularly).
* Fin rot, characterised by the outer rays falling out.
* Scales loosening and falling out
* General swelling and scale protrusion (as in Dropsy)

The spinal deformity you might have going on already. When I had a fish with this, the scales falling out looked alot like white patches (not saying spots because it was larger than ich).

Also, check out this link. http://www.4qd.org/Aqua/disease/tb.html

For right now, keep a very close eye on this fish. Also, make sure your ammonia and nitrite are zero.
