Here is a picture of a labeo I bought the other day.

It is 10" in body length and 12" including it's tail.

I have had 1 identification from a very good source but wanted a second opinion.

WOW i have no clue what that is. Could it be a carp or something?

well it isnt a carp space monkey as he has already identified that it is from the Labeo genus (sharks) - looks cool though how much did it cost and what setup is it going in

I got it at a bargain price for such a "clean" large fish.

I had it in a 4ftx30"x20"tall tank but I moved it into a 4ftx2ftx2ft as it did not appear to be all that happy. It has settled in well now.

I have a Mozambique mouth brooder in with it at the moment that seems to be getting on well with it, aswell as 8 reasonable sized alestes longapinnis tetras.

Labeo/morulius chrysophekadion I would think. Don't take my word for it though - I'm no good with shark identification realy. Nice looking fish anyway. :)

What did your 'very good source' think it was?

bunjiweb-labeo rosae or labeo cylidricus?

Ben,
Have you seen any pics of the rosae?

I wondered if it might be a rubropunctatus as the name means red/reddish punctuated scales.

The good source i know thought it may well be a plainer coloured harlequin shark.

I know 100% it is not a black shark (chrysophekadion) as its mouth is different.
