Every white betta I've ever had has gotten some kind of colour wash eventually... don't be surprised if he starts getting more and more colour the older he gets

Yeah, he looks pretty young to me, relatively speaking. How long have you had him? Most pet shop bettas are about 6 months when you buy them.

lightning did that he was pure white w/ purple on his fins then his fins got a little purple and blue and had a black tint

I hope my 2 white girls don't get any wash. *keeping fingers crossed* I have an orange fellow that looks just like your boys now pic does though. I like the color, but would be a little dissapointed if a white one turned orange.
My red crowntail has gotten more wash the longer I have had him though. He's getting more blue in him. It's just one of those things that happen, unfortunatly.

ive had him for two weeks and i got him from a brand new petsmart that opened up 2 weeks prior

As an example of bettas changing colours, look at the ones on my sig... Raziel's anal fin is half red now, and Arbatel's body is getting to be solid purple

Yeah, it's common and normal. Don't worry your betta is still pretty!
