Cool cave!
I made one very similiar for my electric blue crayfish tank, only I used two fat pieces for the walls and didnt put a back on it, it's kinda like a cave with a back door!
Picture061.jpg

Kinda hard too see, but its in the right corner.

It kinda has a blue hue in the pic.
Its black sand.
I have it in a few of my tanks.
In a few weeks I'm going to upgrade to a 55, possibly a 72 gallon
so I changed all my substrate in 4 tanks so that when I get the bigger one I have enough sand for it...lol
whatever works!

I really like your lighting.
Nice and clear.
My digi cam sucks so bad its hard to get a clear pic. -_-

BTW what did you use to hold yours together?

I used an aquarium epoxy and a black silicone.

i think it looks really great..i love making my own slate caves - i'm always amazed with what i can come up with

Lol, searched my whole home depot, found this stuff that is silicone, but clear and is actually for making real aquariums lol I'll find the name..hmm... its made by Loctite called Xtreme repair, and even says for aquariums up to 30 gallons on it, lol. I highly reccomend it, its holding about 13lbs of mishapen annoyingly-hard-to-stay up slate peices together right now, lol.
And my lighting...the whole tank including hood came from a garage sale for $5..
with dollar store 25w bulbs lol  They are the clear ones though.]
Thanks guys! :D

Sweet, 5 bucks, thats not bad considering.
I just picked up a lil 5 gallon this weekend at a yard sale, thikun bout gettin another betta for it. :D

And since we both live in Canada, how much did ya spend on that silicone, I would like to head over to Home depot and get some of that, I'm sure it was less than the 10 dollar "toothpaste" tube sized ones I bought from superpet!

It was actually friggin expensive (in my opinion lol, i'm finding all aquarium realated is getting to be...grr...) for a tube 30ml!!
about $6.25 or so, with the killer taxes comes to around 7 something, man i really should keep reciepts.
I asked at home depot actually, if pure clear silicone would be safe, as i read some for bathroom &$ kitchen ect said right on them, not for use in aquariums, and some did not state.
|They directed me finally to that stuff, which was near the superglue and epoxys, but I know there must be an alternative. I will be looking up to see if silicone, just normal caluking kind is safe or not.

Holy crap 7 bucks for 30 mL?!?!

I thought the 90 mL for 10 bucks was expensive from superpet/fish stores.
I spose I have nothing to complain about. -_-

As far as I know you have to go with the silicone thats specifically for aquariums, the other stuff will leach toxins into your aquarium water and harm yer fish'ees.

Lol, good thing then...Yeah, i agree it was a setback, but did the trick, considering i only had $20 to spend on all this as well, rock was 12.89, tha was 7....just under...phew...Whats the name of the one you got? I'll give it a go, you get more lol always lookin for bargains...more $$ for fish stuff hehe
