While removing my plants I broke my nymphea (i think thats what it is...please correct me if I'm wrong), dwarf lily thing from it's bulb.

Its the plant circled on the left and I've left the bulb in also.

Will the plant die without the bulb? Will anything grow from the bulb?

New leaves should grow from the tuber. If you keep cutting the leaves this makes the plant more bushy (perhaps that's not the correct word) more dense and in a clump. Whereas if you let it go to its own devices it will send up tall stems with leaves to the surface. I used to grow Nymphae Stellata and this is how that plant performed.
