Eep! My first girlie :)

Went to get my water tested to see if my albino tank was cycled. Yep, twas, so I got some plants for the 20, 3 cories and 6 albino beacons. Anyway, obviously couldn't resist looking at the bettas . They had the usual red VT's, a few plakats left, and 1 girlie. Well, I liked the plakats, but you know what, I would have felt really bad if I'd have left the girl. The plakats are fine, they're quite pretty. But no one would want the girl, after all, she was the only one in there and very dull. So... I got her Currently she's fairly drab with bluey fins, but she has very cute eyes. Like cats eyes, but strangely the 'strip' of blue is horizontal... Anyway, she's in a 1g for now, I'm hoping to either get a 3g for her or do that girlie tank. She's a bit nipped, but that should heal in a few days.

Right, heres the best pic. She has a blue sheen with the flash, but you can't see that in real life Hopefully she'll go bluey-purple all over when she's a bit less stressed.

She is "fear striped" right now. That is what the horizontal stripes are. That is normal for in the store or just got home. Once she is used to her new home and relaxes a bit, she should be a really pretty blue.

I can never resist the girlies. I like them better than the males, most times. I have 7 right now, and no males. 4 are pets only. 3 I plan to breed, so I guess I will have to get a male

Yeah, I know about the stripes. I'd assume she was one of the runts of the tank, luckilly she was on her own otherwise she would have gotten more fin damage. You can see the chunk out of her tail. I've gotten her to eat flake food, so at least she won't starve, but I think I'll get some bloodworm soon for everyone.

OMG lol i just got a new female that looks just like her Heres a pic my comp cam couldnt get any closer to the tank but she looks just like her. I am planing to breed with her so im trying to get her a lottle bigger. Shes so small! at least compared to my boys which are considered small too.

She certainly seems mini compared to my mega-finned boys I *might* get a 5g and get 2 or 3 more girls for my rejects tank. I've got plenty of spare plants I'll need to get a shelf build though... Ah well, never mind
