Went to my favorite lfs yesterday and they had recently had a large delivery with loads of new cichlids and puffer fish. Well I saw a congo puffer for the first time and was well impressed. He was sliding his lips up and down the tank and I've never seen such a human looking face. Afraid I stared for ages in amazement. Will try and include a pic although not sure it will work.

No, I think you're thinking of Tetraodon Mbu a huge puffer, that does indeed grow over 2foot.
I can't remember the exact size for T. Mirius (sp?) but definately not that big. They need a tank of their own and don't do much all day, but are so gorgeous!
