and here's Spike my rainbow cichlid. His gills are a bit red, I'm hoping once the algae goes he'll get better

Day 2 of algae treatment and the green slime is definately dying off. I've increased the 02 by adding a small submersible pump with hose attached. Hopefully the increased water circulation might stop the algae from reforming. The water is still very green.

So Spike died Hello bigfishkeepers. Whats your verdict?

very odd rainbpw cichlid. Mine is a Darkish color with purples and yellows and i've seen Dwarfs Rainbows and his are dark colors too but yours is really light

Spike didn't look too good, healthy rainbows are yellow and black, or somewhat like that :/
Was he always that grey, or did it just happen recently? -_-

Here's a pic of one of mine :)

He was yellow and black but went dark when he got sick. I tried lots of treatments but he pineconed and died after being isolated. He may well have been a cross breed I got him with the tank. Just hoping the rest will be ok :(

Im not sure if increasing O2 would help your algae problem. I'm guessign there's way too many minerals or nutrients in your water. Keep changing your water and watch your lights.

Good luck
