Thought I would make a little gallery so I can post my updates over the next few weeks with my plants and fish.

My first (only) picture today is a clear empty tank. (After flourite mess :) ) It's a bright tank just speed up shutter speed so it wouldn't be a bright white blur.

A lot of plants for one. Still working on the fishies, I have a couple weeks to think about it. Right now I'm thinking about something that will eat algae. Maybe some rainbow fish and swordtails. Still working on it. :)

Good call on the rainbow fish! I brought some home recently and I love them. I have them in a tank with grey rocks and some tall vals (but with plenty of swimming room in the front.) They look fabulous with those colors (green and grey).

They will end up in a bigger tank though. They're just little guys right now. Lots of fun to feed, too.

I look forward to seeing the progress. You seem to have good equipment to go planted i.e. lots of light, CO2 and decent substrate. What colour temp. is your lighting?

I did a lot of reasearch with lights and plants and it seemed to help to have a little variety within the correct spectrum. They are all full spectrum i believe.

Just finished planting them. I went with my gut and bought more than I thought I would need and I'm glad I did. Now my filter is cleaning some flourite dust I kicked up. I'll post some pics tommorow once it settles. It looks so cool with the moonlights on the plants. :)

Here is a pic of my newly planted tank. The pic is a little dark because I took it at a faster shutter speed so there wouldn't be a blinding light lol. As of this picture, Iron is ~.3 PPM, CO2 is ~6 PPM and tank is cycling.

It's a little blurry due to a bacterial bloom because of an increase in ammonia I put in today and also from flourite that I kicked up. This is also my first aquascape.

that looks really nice! I bet it will look great when it is all grown.

what kinds of fish are you planning on getting?

I'm still working on what to put in it. The tank still has to finish cycling. Thinking some type of algae eater, a bunch of cories (I like them :) ) and perhaps some rainbow fish. I also have to see what the LFS(s) have around me.

great tank
a school of congo tetras would look great in that tank

Oh yah forgot about those. The best LFS near me has those too. A school of those would look great. Thanks. :p In a week or so I'm going to get my CO2 going. I want to let the plants adjust to the tank first. In fact tommorow I'm going to buy a little pump so I can build a DIY reactor.

My ph is around ~7 ppm coming out of the tap. Tends to either be a little higher or lower depending whats in the tank. Most of the time it's right at 7.0
