Made a walmart save today

So I was in walmart, looking for a baseball magazine, and after I found they don't have it, I thought I'd visit the betta, so I took a spin by, was looking, all looked good, so I browsed the other fish, and.. low and behold, I saw this poor betta in the top corner clinging to the side of this tiny random floating plant, there also happend to be a dead african clawed frog in the same corner. there were african rainbow fish, redtail shark, and an alive african clawed frog or two, I watched this poor guy for aruond 10-15 min. he sat there.. and sat there.. noticed I was noticing him, came a little closer to the glass to see me, went right back... and finally i saw him swim away from his spot for a sec. he just decided to flare and chase away the rainbow. so I had to walk halfway around the store, to find someone had them page help, and no one came, so then I saw someone I know, that works there. and she paged, finally someone came, the kid was a dull as a box o' rocks. I told him there was a betta in there and it had to be taken out or bad things will happen (inside the tank, and outside, but I didn't exactly say heh) so he says "uhh.. I can put him in a bag" so I said whatever, and.. I really do not have any room at all for another fish, but I have one now. he's in my little holding tank.

Gotta love it, atleast he wasn't beaten up or with too many nippy fish.


oh well, now he's safe I might call tomorrow and ask the actual aquarium person why he was in there.

I think when he came up to the glass to see me, he was whispering "get me the heck out'a here! PLEASE!" he seems to be doing good, bout as good as he can in the little home he's in right now, he did eat a few pellets, so that's good, and I'm pretty sure he's gotten darker in color in the hour that I've had him.

Another Betta saved from stupid people. Good for you for helping him out!

He's red-finned, and a very iridescent body.

He's beautiful. He knew the right person to "speak" to. Amazing what clean water and fresh food can do. Have you named him yet?

OMG OMG OMG A GUS TWIN!!!!! ..name him GusII!!!!!!!!!!!! ...i lost gus in DEC...i miss him alot..that fish looks just like him!!!!! this was gus (avatar LOL)

I find it so rewarding to watch them wiggle their little butts around their new bowls when they're happy to be home
