I went to a different LFS this time and they comfirmed that my fries were bettas even though they still had no clue on how it got there. They suggested me to use BBS as everybody else did as well but they were out of it and won't get any until thursday! They gave me a package of frozen blood worms for free instead. Now here's my problem. I looked at this pacakge of frozen red stuff and said to my self... they're way to big and I couldn't cut a chunk small enough! Any suggestions? I'm keeping the fish on a diet of about 8 tiny dabs of egg paste right now but I don't know if they'll make it!

Feed them like guppies, because I just read your post about these fish and unless the underworld just froze over, those ain't bettas.

the fries look exactly like this but it doesn't have a bubble nest.

Sorry, completely off topic, but i read your title and thought "Nah.....fries and ketchup!!! Fries and bloodworm.... yucky....!" guess it must be my dinner time!

Can't you defrost the bloodworm and chop them, or put them in a blender and make a paste out of them?

Sorry, I just don't believe it. It's a pretty tall tale to accept, especially from someone who joined yesterday. Really seems like an attention-grabbing ploy to me....

Let's pretend for a moment that these are baby bettas. Read the pinned topic on care, http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?showtopic=37944

You will need to find appropriate live food immediately or more then likely the fry will die.

here's my problem... I don't have microworms or bbs... so, can someone tell me how I can prepare bloodworms so they are small enough?

Nope. You're missing the point. Nearly all baby bettas refuse to eat food that is not live. Nutritionally, bloodworms are not an appropriate food for betta fry that young either. BBS hatch quickly, and nearly every lfs under the sun has them. I'd pick some up if I were you, and fast.

Did you read the info in the link I provided? Or do you just want us to hand hold you through this fantasy of yours?
:dunno:

In fact, the more I think about it, the more I think you have danio fry. Given that any thought?

Sarah  I thought..
"mmmm,with a shake please!" :hey:  :p

lubear, you will never ever be able to cut the worms up to be small enough for them. They'll just basically disappear into mush before you could get them small enough. Right now you'll need either egg yolk or some sort of first bite food, but betta fry will not likely eat that anyway.

Regardless, I saw your post last night, how long ago was it when you had a male and female in the tank together again? I didn't pay close attention.
think you have danio fry.
Could very well be.

That's what I was starting to wonder. Since Danios don't need (and in fact, should not have) parental involvement in the rearing of fry, then this makes a whole lot more sense than Betta fry, who do not simply "appear" and who do not tend to survive without their good old dad.

If they are Danio fry, then they're still too small for bloodworms, and should be on BBS.

maybe you guys missed the point. I DONT CARE WHERE THEY CAME FROM. And yes, I did read that post and have been researcing on how to take care of these frys for hours. I know that I should get BBS right aways but as I said, my lfs wont have them in till thursday

But you could have them by tomorrow if you run out now and get some brine eggs. Hatch em up

Since you've chosen to ignore the possibility mentioned by kiarra and myself, you clearly already have your mind made up. Don't come crying to me when your betta fry grow up to be danios.

As for the food situation, you've gotten advice from many people, including an IBC champion betta breeder (wuvmybetta). If you don't like the advice you've been given on the food topic, I don't know what to tell you. You habve multiple breeders in this thread advising you on what will and won't work, yet you keep asking the same question.

Good luck with your fry.
