MG Crowntail

Well, I wanted a betta for my nano cube that I am going to get soon so I stopped at the lps today and check out what kind of bettas they have. Their was a rack full of crowntails, plakats, superdeltas, halfmoons, and veiltails. Since i'd never had a crowntail before I decided to get one. This one is about 4 months old, and was raised by one of the workers, Antonio.

Where abouts are you from ? ive neva seen a crowntail in my lfs, neva seen a delta, or a half moon either, only recently managed to find double tails!!

I am from michigan, she isn't a she, it's a he. He is nearly 4 months old and still growing his crowntail rays. I know from the image, it looks like a she but it's a he.

My lps sells many types of strains of bettas considering that, Antonio, betta, livebearer, and angel breeder breeds different strains.

But the prices of these bettas vary, all female bettas are $4.98, all round tail/plakat bettas are $5.98, fancy crowntails are $7.98, and antonio's bettas are $7.98.

I had a feeling that one was a little boy.

Very adorable. His fins aren't very long for his age, though. At 4 months, they should be a bit longer. That's why everybody's kind of confused. He looks great, though, and those fins are going to be gorgeous when they grow in.

I would be fortunate but not lucky. Any petstore can have these kind of bettas, you can either request them or just find a local breeder around ya that breed bettas. I have 2 local breeders that breeds plakats, halfmoons, superdeltas, crowntails. I really like to get a mg female for this guy as I may plan to breed in the summer.

I have one only one LFS/LPS nearby that carries anything more than standard VT's as a rule. They stock several hundred at a time. They have ridiculous prices on anything not a VT though. For instance standard price for an average looking CT is $20 AUD. For a DT $35 AUD, for a HM/Double Tail anything from $80 to $130 AUD. Its frustrating. So I started looking on the net for fish. I might be able to find something of a decent price, I'll probably have to get something interstate though, knowing my luck. I was looking at Aquabid, some people directly sell to Aussies from Asia. I am really thinking about that seriously. Then I'll have an absolutely gorgeous betta like I keep seeing on here. :thumbs:
